I’m surprised more people don’t talk about this product—it has truly elevated my furniture refinishing work. I’ve been able to rebuild missing or damaged areas with great results. It’s easy to use and performs very well. The only drawback is the drying and curing time, which requires a bit of patience. That said, I highly recommend it as a valuable addition to any workshop.

Had a exterior door with a bottom end missing due to rot. Product was an excellent solution to the problem. Mixed it like playing with play dough as a child and pushed it in to place. Shaped it with a "wet" plastic coated finger. Several hours later sanded to give it the proper texture and painted it. Excellent results! Consider the cost of a new door compared to the cost to repair and you will smile. :):)

I have used many of JB Weld's products and always find them to be effective. I purchased this to repair some rotted window casing I discovered when prepping my trim for fall painting. My first impression is that the putty is dry but it does hold together. It does not smell and it's kind-of fluffy feeling. The gloves they include in the box are completely worthless but the little scraper was very useful. You can add a little water to the putty to make it more pliable but be careful and don't add too much. My experience was that it is best to knead it without adding any water. If it's too crumbly, add just a couple drops. If you add too much, it makes the putty difficult to work with because it will stick to your gloves more readily than it will stick to the wood. The putty is easy to apply in a large area. Where it gets difficult is in the smaller spaces like sun damage cracks and voids. It tends to pull itself out when you try and smooth it down. It helps to squirt a small amount of water on the top to smooth it out but only do that if you are done spreading it. You don't want the wood surface wet because the putty won't attach. In my experience, it's better to leave it shaggy and sand it down. Anyway, it worked. I had used Elmer's wood filler on the cracks a couple years ago and that was a complete fail. My impression is that this epoxy product is superior in every way. Time will tell.

I'm impressed. I have wood windows. I'm replacing my wood storms with aluminum. I had one window on the north side of the house that has a rotted frame. I gutted out several years ago, replaced the brick mold with composite, cleaned up the wood storm and it dried out inside very nicely. So I used this stuff. I kneaded it as instructed. I pushed down inside but even after 30 minutes it was soft. After a full hour, the surface was pretty hard. I tried sanding and underneath was soft. I simply waited. It got nice and hard, was easy to sand with a power sander. I did not get a before photo, but the area where the stain is is where the filler was put in. I'm impressed. I have a rotted board on one of our Adirondack chairs, I'm going to try this on that next.
