The same thing sometimes happens to me, especially with a new screwdriver. Typically it is the small phillips bits that are hard to grip in your fingers. You can pull the bit out with pliers to override the magnet holding it in. Then using a q-tip, make sure the end of the hex opening is clean. You can also polish the six sides of the hex on the bit by rubbing each face on a piece of 800 grit wet or dry paper laid on a tabletop. Finally, put the bit back in the screwdriver and sand around the exposed portion with 150 grit sandpaper. This will make it rough enough to get a good grip on it without the pliers. You can buy other bits for this at the hardware store. I keep a number 1 square in my screwdriver for electrical work. **Q: Is it magnetic?
