Best wrench ---IN THIS PRICE RANGE---.
Most 1/2 digital wrenches in this price range only go to 150lbs, but I needed something over 200lbs and this wrench works great. I almost broke down and bought the Snapon TechAngle for over $500, but then I found this. That being said, this IS NOT COMPARABLE AT ALL to the Snapon as other reviewers claim. Because the Snapon TechAngle does just that, it also measures ANGLE!!!! This wrench does NOT do that. If you need ANGLE measurements, and over 200ftlbs and stellar warranty, you should buy the Snapon! If you don't need angle measurements, flex head, best warranty, and highest resale value, but still want a digital wrench that goes over 200lbs then this is very good option, I have been using it for a few months now, and It's very good FOR THE PRICE.

Takes 3xAAA batteries, not 2xAA - Good wrench compared to click-style
Took a while to get it turned on because the first two sets of batteries I tried didn't work, but the third set did. For the record, the 1/2" drive fixed-head wrench uses three AAA batteries, not two AAs as per the Amazon description. After a quick trial, it seems to work well. The vibration is a little weak for my liking, if I had the option I would probably just turn it off because I can't really feel it through my gloves. It's a very weak, high-frequency vibration with a loose and almost tinny-sound rather than more of a strong, tight vibration from something like an iPhone or Playstation controller. Aside from that, the light isn't that great either as it's a small, individual LED on the screen so unless you're looking directly at it, you won't notice it. I think if GearWrench ever upgraded this model, an LED ring around the top of the handle would work much better. I think it's an okay torque wrench for the money. It feels solid and the ratchet action is tight and smooth so you can always get a nice angle to torque your wheel lugs.

Genial herramienta
Este es otro nivel de torquรญmetro. El aviso sonoro y vibratorio hace la diferencia. El mango es sรบper ergonรณmico y agradable al tacto. Siempre recuerden retirar las pilas cuando no usen.

Iโve own this less than a year and roughly 90 degrees of the total ratcheting mech doesnโt engage anymore and the remaining part that does, does only to about 40 ft lbs then snaps past. I believe either the teeth are sheared or badly damaged. I only ever used this up to 90ft lbs for my wheels. Kept in the case, took excellent care of it and in less than a year itโs nearly useless. If you try to claim a warranty, they send you to a third party shop out of West Virginia. At which point you have to pay shipping to get the tool to the shop, they โneed it for about a weekโ, and then they determine if itโs under warranty. No idea if this is a fox or replace situation. Iโve owned this less than a year and itโs trash, now you want me to pay to ship it to some random company who then decides if itโs a warranty or not. On what criteria? This is nuts. Donโt buy this tool. Youโre on your own if it breaks, and at the very least gear wrench is going to make you jump through hoops for a repair or replacement. After this experience I wouldnโt recommend GearWrench anything to anyone. This is terrible service. Update: After another email to Apex they doubled down on sending the tool off for repair rather than offering to replace it. There is absolutely NO REASON that within the first year anyone should have to compromise on a repaired and clearly defective tool. Apex will actively choose to make this harder on the customer when given the chance.

Great quality wrench. Very accurate and easy to use.
I have been using the wrench for several months now to check torque value of lug nuts on wheels for my cars. Works perfectly. Very accurate and easy to use. After checking the torque of the nut, just wait for the wrench to re-set itself to zero again before you proceed to checking the torque of other nut. seconds Great quality product. Very Good value for money.

Excellent torque wrench!
I use a Snap-On digital torque wrench at the shop and I've used click-type torque wrenches at home. Because I use a 1/2" torque wrench often, I decided I wanted to get a good digital torque wrench to use at home. I couldn't justify the $800 Snap-On, and it just so happened this digital Gearwrench was on sale when I was looking. Well, I'm quite pleased with it overall. It's easy to use and is as accurate as it claims to be from what I can tell. You can set and save the desired torque spec, so it won't move around on you, it tells you how tight you tightened it and you just turn it off to store it instead of having to set it to its lowest setting like with a click-type torque wrench. The length of it is great and it's easy to apply the right amount of torque. I have to play around with the % setting to get it to start beeping not too early and not too late. I would say the only thing I don't like about it are the 0.1 ft.lb. increments. I never use a "less than whole number setting" value on a 1/2" torque wrench. It's always a whole number, like 55, 80, 140, etc. But because you have to adjust it based on 0.1 ft.lb. increments, if it's on 139 ft.lb. and you need to set it to 140 ft.lb., you have to click "up" 10 times and listen to it beep for each click. It's inefficient and forces you to listen to the beeping. When you hold the button down, it will speed up but in almost unpredictable and exponential ways which, of course, causes you to go too far up or down and you end up clicking like 20 times more and listening to each beep. I cover the speaker while I set it because the excessive beeping is just overkill. It should move up and down using whole numbers, not 0.1 ft.lb. increments. I had to write a lot of words to explain the dislike above but that does not mean I do not like this product. I actually really like it, but if they could do something better (at least in my mind), it would be to change the increment setting or at least give us the option to change it. All in all, excellent product. I would recommend this to anyone who uses a 1/2" torque wrench regularly.
