THE TWO VERSIONS LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THE DIFFERENCE IN LANGUAGES. I was able to use the French version with 5-6mm fresh water pearls which have a very small drilled hole; however, the thread with the Spanish subheadings was just slightly too thick. I was able to simply thread the elastic thread through with no needle required, even though the hole and the thread were almost the same size. The thread is substantial enough to hold onto. If the hole in the lava bead is .8mm, this will work; however, if the bead itself is only .8mm the thread would not work. If the thread is just a tiny bit too thick for the hole, you can stretch it firmly before threading by pulling on it (which you should always do anyway when making stretchy bracelets so they don't stretch out the first time someone wears the bracelet). This will reduce the thickness of the thread slightly, at least temporarily. **Q: My bead hole is 0.8mm.
