so there's little to no magnetic mechanism on this but at least it works to cover the exposed part. i think it would actually be useless without the added plastic part that holds it on. just be more careful when moving the pen around.

I got this because my real apple pencil cap was cracking. This cap is not a perfect apple replacement, I think the color is a little different (you can't tell unless you look real close). If you lose your pencil cap then I think its a perfect replacement. The magnet doesn't seem AS strong, but I have a cover on mine so I really don't notice
