Successive readings are ALWAYS exactly the same. You can take 10 readings in a row and they will all be the same - not "close", but the "same". You can alternate people on successive readings to try to throw it off, but that doesn't work. It still gives the exact correct weight for each person. If you put on a sweater that weighs 1.2 pounds, it will read exactly 1.2 pounds heavier when you get back on the scale. When you take the sweater off, it'll deduct exactly 1.2 pounds on the next reading. There is no way to shake this scale off its game - it's very precise. This is the best scale I've ever owned, the first one I've had confidence in, and the first time I could honestly say I was "happy" about a bathroom scale. Throw out whatever you have (unless it's a high-end doctor scale, like with the little sliding weights) and buy this one.
