Alpine Rivers RFID Blocking Sleeves, Credit Card Protector, Passport Sleeve

I use primarily the card sleeves. It fits standard size credit/debit cards perfectly (at least US ones), and does not significantly contribute to the size. I have a Crabby Gear Canvas Wallet (non-elastic) and comfortably fits 4-5 cards (not including another 3-4 ID and insurance cards without the sleeves). This is same as before I had the sleeves - and had a card electronically stolen and used on the other side of the continent. When in the sleeve, a cash register RFID reader does not pick up the card - I tried at multiple POS systems - so it does its primary job from what I can tell. I've had these for over a year, and there is no significant wear-and-tear, even with daily use for some of them. I did read some negative reviews here, and to comment on some of those: * Yes, there is a card imprint on the sleeve if the card has embossed card number on it. Many newer cards do not have this. If yours do, I would definitely use caution not to lose them (as with the card itself) and dispose of mindfully (e.g. shredder). * These do not work with security badges. I tested mine with one of the passport-size sleeves to confirm this. I believe the reason is significantly lower RFID frequency than the credit card chips. You may need a Faraday pouch or something if this is part of your threat model. * Yes, it's a bit of a nuisance taking card in and out each time. You have to get in the habit if you want this layer of protection, there is no way around it. To help reinsert the card, I suggest slightly squeezing the sides. On occasion, for example if there is a line behind me, I just put it in my pocket and put it back in the sleeve at the next opportunity (e.g. in the car). * Yes, an RFID wallet can provide better, more streamlined protection (I have one of those as well for certain uses). But, if you like your wallet, as I mentioned above these do not contribute significantly to the size. * Some reviewers commented how the card no longer fits into a single pocket inside a wallet. I used a wallet I have, see photo. With one card per pocket, they go in and out very easily (right side). With two cards per pocket... well, to be honest, the 4th card took some effort to get in (left side). Obviously, it's going to depend on the specific wallet - my wife said she had issues with hers as well. For my use case, the credit/debit card sleeves do exactly what I need: block contactless chip readers, don't get worn out easily, and fit in my existing wallet.

These RFID blocking sleeves are very slim, discreet, and professional-looking. They came quickly in the mail and were packaged very nicely, much like the many pictures others have posted. My credit card information has been stolen more than once, typically after a trip somewhere, so I was a bit wary as I prepared for my family's summer trip this year. So, I decided to purchase these as a safeguard for my husband's and my cards this year. I love the discreetness of these cards. The cards and sleeve fit perfectly in the card slots in my wallet but did not fit in my husband's card slots. He just put them in the larger bill fold area and it worked fine there. I really like the basic black color scheme I ordered and there's a small white square near the sleeve opening where you can use a permanent colored marker to differentiate the sleeves so you know which card you are pulling out or a basic black permanent marker to write down initials for card identification, if you wanted to. You can also easily buy colored dots at the dollar store to indicate various cards you have, pretty easy fix. I read reviews where some have tried testing out the sleeves with their hotel room card keys so I did that too and it worked! Without the sleeve, the card key unlocked my hotel room and with it, it did not. It is satisfying to know that a product does what it says it will do. On my trip, I kept my cards in the sleeves up until the moment I needed it, and even then, I kept the card close to my body just in case. I know thieves can steal card information several ways, but I hope this product was able to safeguard against most of their tactics. Overall, it's a good buy, especially the passport sleeves if you are travelling out of country. I would easily pay $11 again for a set of sleeves that give you peace of mind. I am happy with my purchase and since I received more sleeves than the number of cards that I use, I will be sharing some with my siblings.

This is a good way to protect your cards.

Seam sturdy but not easy to get card in and out of. One card only. No way of knowing if they are working, but it does have the silver coating on the inside.

These are durable and take a lot of abuse inside one's purse or wallet. Good value for the money. I have tried several other brands of RFID sleeves and found the others to wear very quickly, becoming readily shop worn from use.

I don't always leave reviews but this one indeed deserved one. I decided to give this product a test at one of the hardest testing grounds available for this kind of product; the Black Hat Security Conference, in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a White Hat Hacker/Security Engineer, I'm always looking for and testing products that will help myself, but more importantly, my family, friends and others in the world that do not walk on the same roads in the technical world as I do. Have no doubt that there are people out there that are very driven and very good at stealing your information and in the cases of credit cards, passports and IDs they are getting to where they can do it without you ever realizing it until it's too late. The days of having to steal your wallet and/or purse to get this information is long gone. It still happens but that isn't the preferred way for the "smart" criminal. These days it is simply bumping into you. At Black Hat it is made a point to try and get all the information you can and everyone walking into the conference area knows this and for the most part comes prepared. My first morning I came with just a prepaid credit card with $50.00 (I wasn't willing to risk too much on an unproven item) on it in the Alpine Rivers credit card sleeve and went to rfid scanning specialists to see what would happen. I asked them to try and get all they could and not tell me if they were successful or not. After 90 minutes of talking to these folks and others I went back to my hotel and checked. The money was still on the card and no attempts had been made to try and access the account in any way. Next I took the same card with $50.00, a chip and tap enabled debit card to a bank account where the bank knew what I was doing so that account was limited with its funding and a chip and tap enabled credit card from a major credit card company who also knew what I was doing and sent me a card with limited funding available. Each of these cards was in the Alpine Rivers credit card sleeve. I went back to the conference and again approached rfid specialists. It was the same deal, I hang out for an hour and a half then go back to the hotel. I checked and nothing was done to any of the accounts again. Next I took the $50.00 prepaid card and the debit card out of the sleeve and left the credit card in the sleeve. I went back to the conference, back to the rfid specialists and within 5 minutes I was getting alerts that both those cards were seeing strange activity. The credit card that was still in the sleeve was not giving me any alerts. I hung out for the 90 minutes and went back to the hotel. The $50.00 prepaid card and the chip and tap enabled debit card that were NOT in the Alpine Rivers sleeves were breached, money had been removed and account information taken. The chip and tap credit card that was IN the Alpine Rivers sleeve was perfectly fine. That evening I started the real test. I took the test credit card out of the sleeve and put two of my actual credit cards in sleeves and went back. The test credit card was getting hit just by walking around within minutes and my 2 personal credit cards were fine. I went back to the hotel, checked and as before the card not in the sleeve was breached and the cards in the sleeves were safe. I went back the next day and did the same thing as the evening before with the same results. I decided to go all in (pun intended for this conference being in Vegas. Excuse the cheese ha) and that afternoon and evening I carried my credit cards, debit cards and passport with me but they were all in the Alpine Rivers sleeves. Being paranoid I went back to the hotel several times and nothing was wrong with any of the accounts for cards I had in sleeves and I was confident the same was to be said for my passport information. Now almost 2 months later I can say that nothing untoward has happened with my identity or any information that resides on a passport and no financial issues have occurred with any card that I had in the sleeves while attending the Black Hat conference. The folks that attend these conferences are driven to get the data residing on these items. The majority now do it for the purposes of helping stop thieves but there are always those that are on the nefarious side. They go to the conferences, walk down the same streets as you, shop at the same stores, go to the same movies and the list goes on. The Alpine Rivers RFID blocking sleeves impressed not only myself but many others at the conference. I use them daily as do my family and friends. I have and will continue to recommend these to people with full peace of mind. I trust them to the point that the executives in the company I work for are all getting these so their items are protected especially for travel. Thank you, Alpine Rivers, for distributing such a great product. Thank you to those that took the time to read this lengthy review but I wanted it to be worth reading as evidence of the effectiveness of these sleeves.

In the last 2 days I tried my credit card and a debit card both in a sleeve at a gas station convenience store, a grocery store, and a small store. In all cases with both covered cards the scanner could not read the chip on either card. YES IT DOES WORK!!!!! Now for a slight downer, the sleeve is about a millimeter to wide. The cards and sleeves fit in my wallet, but it is a tight fit. I will review again when my wallet rips or the sleeve falls apart from my constant use.

Très bon choix, le passport européen entre parfaitement sans pour autant glisser hors de la pochette Idem pour les petites mais ce sont les dimensions standards de toutes les carte de paiement. Le petit 'creux' au centre permet de le/les retirer vite et sans difficulté.

Very good, high quality items. Well made and strong, as well as looking good. My credit cards slide inside the sleeves easily, and then fit into my credit card wallet snugly without creating too much extra bulk. My passport fits easily into the passport sleeve. I have no way of knowing if these sleeves protect my cards & passport from being illegally scanned, and I hope I never have to find out, but due to the build quality, I have every reason to believe they will perform exactly as described & provide a high level of protection.I would definitely recommend these sleeves to others as a sensible security measure for extra peace of mind.
