You’ve got these two best friends that have been head over heels for each other for like ten years, but they were so worried about losing each other that they didn’t act on it, and they didn’t know the other felt it. Emily Henry takes you on a 12 year journey from past to present of summer vacays, the ups, the downs, and everything inbetween. I mean, I loved Poppy and Alex. I wish I had an opposite-sex bestfriend that acted like them when they were together, dancing in the street, and just fooling around like teenagers the entire time. Inside jokes, witty banter, and you can just feel the connection between them coming off the page. You’ve got this mystery the whole way through, what happened on that 10th summer (2 years ago) that made them stop talking? A mystery that holds the entire way through without a glimpse of what went down. It was well written and the characters were great, I was soul-sucked into this book. After reading two amazing books, Emily Henry will now become an auto buy author! Recommend for a lighthearted friends to lovers. Review: Holiday book! - If you want a book to read on holiday this is the book for you! It’s cute, funny and the characters have great chemistry. A fun quick easy read 😊

Perfect Holiday Read
I don’t know what Emily Henry put in this book, but I could not put it down and didn’t want it to end at the same time. Poppy was the confused millennial we all feel like most of the time and I related to her more than I thought I would. Being stuck in a rut in your dream job after reaching all your goal whilst simultaneously suffering from burnout? Yeah I feel you girl. Alex Nilsen was delightfully awkward in such an endearing way that it was so hard not to fall in love with him. His fear of losing someone and letting the one person he loves more than anything all the way in, was incredibly relatable too. Though it was frustrating how the Palm Springs trip ended, it was also incredibly realistic and that was what made this a 5 star for me. There was no miscommunication to mess things up, just pure, raw, painful honesty between the two of them that lead to both of them growing (more Poppy than Alex I may add though). It’s made me want to binge read all of Emily Henry’s books now, but also savour them because the characters feel so relatable. That and I’m also scared to collect even more book boyfriends than I already have. It’s becoming unmanageable at this point!

Ow my heart.
I apologise to any future possible man who I will absolutely be holding to the standards of the men Emily Henry writes. Ow my heart. That’s all. This book make it grow three sizes ‘grinch style.’ I read Emily Henry’s other book beach read in one sitting, uncomfortably in the heat to add to the beachy vibe, and then immediately had to buy this one because her writing ‘speaks to me.’ And thus came another entire night in the sudden British heat wave spent reading ‘you and me on vacation’ all in one go. The characters are so wonderfully fleshed out, the dynamics are so beautifully banterful but the whole book has this wonderful hit of heartbreaking realism of pain that hits you where you need it. The way she writes family dynamics and the relationship struggles within those is incredible and the characters all have these layers that build up to a surface character but when you peel it back with each chapter you see it all makes sense. Poppy is presented at first as a bold extrovert and Alex quite the opposite but then you learn about their vastly different experiences growing up and you see why and how they are the people they are. Thought I would try dipping my toes into the contemporary romance genre with ‘beach read’ and got absolutely dragged in and drowned in the best way possible with both ‘beach read’ and ‘you and me on vacation.’ Do yourself a favour and pick up this book, the sheer amount of embarrassing audible giggles you’ll have alone I’m your room at 3am from the dynamics of Poppy and Alex are worth it alone.

Good..
It’s a good book but in total honesty it’s taking me months to finish where as recently I’ve been reading the invisible life of Addie Larue and gallant which I’ve finished within hours or days so it goes to show that this book isn’t very gripping but I do think the relationship they both have is really sweet but it annoys me how long it takes to find out why they stopped talking

Another great Emily Henry
It's safe to say that Emily Henry is one of my auto-buy authors. Her characters and story lines are always great and You And Me On Vacation was no different. A great friends to lovers romance with two timelines. Poppy and Alex's story is a slow burner, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I liked it :) Contained a certain tension that got me hooked, but it wasn't a 5 star tho

Didn't realize this was the EU version of People We Meet on Vacation but this book is a ten out of ten. Probably top three of my 150+ reads so far this year. Absolutely hit it out of the park
