Had to wait a long time for the item… and My daughter does not want to wear it since it’s not the color we ordered. It said plain orange and we received blue with a print for boys. Very disappointed… if you receive the right color the item is okay.

The Stop Thumb Sucking gloves worked perfectly for our 4 year old daughter. She was at a point where sucking her thumb was just a bad habit--it wasn't that she needed it anymore. We had talked and talked and talked about quitting sucking her thumb-read books, discussed how she was big girl and didn't need her thumb, etc. The gloves were the perfect solution. I ordered our first pair in 2011 and with the birth of our 3rd child a few months ago, I've caught my daughter sucking her thumb again at night (It has been over a year since she last sucked her thumb:/ Of course, she also has a blanket with similar material to her blankie too = need to remove that!) so on go the gloves again! I am back to order another pair, because I can't find our first ones! She loved playing with them and they are around here somewhere, but I can't find them! YES--they do come off easily. So, if you have a determinded child who is going to do whatever it takes to get to that thumb, then this isn't the product for you-and your child might not be old enough or ready to stop. However, if your child is older and understands the concept as to why he needs to quit, then the gloves will probably be successful for you if you set it up correctly. We totally made a big deal of how cool these gloves are and she loved wearing them--she was at the point where she mainly sucked her thumb at night--because we also gave her her little blankie. After we took the blankie away (remove any comfort items-I know it's hard, but it will help)and set up a little reward sticker chart, it only took a matter of days. Again, the gloves aren't magical--they will not solve the problem without you setting up your own system to help your child succeed in stopping sucking his/her thumb! For us, discussing reasons why she needed to quit, reading the book "Thumb Love", and getting the gloves and using them alongside the reward chard = SUCCESS!!

My daughter has been sucking her thumb since she was little. We tried the nail polish and other things to stop her quit this habbit, but it did not work. As for these gloves, she initially removed it quickly and would suck her thumb. We tried applying cellotape on the gloves so she wouldn’t take it off at night. Weird, but she quickly learnt that she could simply sleep without sucking her thumb. Later we would just put on the gloves at night during bedtime. She is 4 year old and finally after about 1 1/2 months of wearing these gloves she has quit the habit of thumb sucking. I highly recommend this product specially for kids who want to quit thumb sucking.

I bought this for my 5 (az M/L) year old at the time and now 4 year old as well (az SM). I also bought 2 "Dr Thumbs" at the same time. Trial and error right? Well after 6 months of verbal prep I think each child was ready at this particular moment in their life to finally quit (I had two very passionate thumb suckers aince birth). The glove was amazing for us! I only put the doctor thumb on my 4 year old as a scar tactict and it worked. I threatened her if she took the glove off I would but the big (more uncomfortable thumb guard on instead -Dr. Thumb) so yes, they can pull it off. But if you work patiently and persistently with your child for about a week (get be or take) they st used to it. Both mine were very willing and proud to put it on after a couple days. They called it heir "elsa glove". Luckily the package comes with a pair so I had a back up I'd one got dirty or lost. This process was so smooth compared to other tactics I tried the last couple years and I'm so grateful for this nice comfortable thumb glove. And affordable! Granted you have to know your child and if they are ready or not. My 5 year old was very ready and didn't want to suck her thumb in kinder. And 4 year old didn't think she was ready (at 3 we tried and quit after a week of misery) but at 4 she was able to quit cold turkey on her 4th bday. We also bought a cute book on Amazon about thumb sucking to read to them. Lots of tactics out there and sometimes it's good to have backup options. Good luck parents out there! 😉

they fit great, and have been really helping but needs to be a child who is wanting to stop sucking their thumbs. I was however very disappointed that they were orange and not hot pink as they are advertised on amazon - also they are easily taken off the thumb so if your child really wants to suck their thumb they definitely can. Would like a product that would not be easily removed from the thumb.
