Q: What is the noise reduction rating number?

Per the package, the NRR of 26 Decibels.

Q: Is the earplug hard or soft when it hardens? What I would like to do is drill a small hole once it hardens and make a custom earbud.

It's hard, but supposedly softens a bit when it is heated (by being in your ear) for a custom fit.

Q: Any experience in using these with a motorcycle?

Bought them for factory work, around large plastic grinders, comfortable, and when the my motorcycle, it helps cut the wind noise. But I can still hear some of the traffic around me, I am on year ten, and it helps because they don't trap earwax in the ear. Only in ear plugs I can use.

Q: what material is this?

I use this for making earmolds for my hearing aids. Im wondering tho if this can be used as a waterproof plug for swimming and such?
