Osprey Daylite Shoulder Sling Bag, Black

I have a G4Free sling and I love it, but it's too small to hold my 10.4" tablet. Thus, I decided to try the Osprey. It's a very high quality sling bag. It has plenty of space for my needs. The material is much thicker and tougher than the G4Free.The G4Free on the other hand has an outside mesh pocket, which I miss on the Osprey. However, the front pocket works just fine for a small water bottle.The Daylite is very high quality and appears that it will hold up for the long haul. It's very comfy and has some padding on the inside. It's very water resistant and you won't have to worry about getting you gear wet in rain. I'd be cautious in a downpour, however.This pack isn't designed to carry a tablet, but for my needs when I occasionally carry my tablet it works great. It fits with the case on too. This essentially acts as my daily use and dad bag (kid supplies - snacks, hand wipes, etc.).It's a great little bag and I highly recommend it.

My college age son has type 1 diabetes and I was looking for something new for him to carry his supplies in. This bag is the perfect size and looks 'manly' enough for him. It is not too big and not too small. He can carry all his supplies, some snacks, keys and his wallet. I highly recommend!

in planning a trip walking around London, i searched for a small day pack that i could comfortably wear as a 'frontpack'. this is THE ONE! comfortable to wear. well made. ample room for water bottle, small umbrella, wallet, iphone, and little things i bought on my walks. so easy to access everything. strap held the frontpack in place comfortably on my front. and most of all, i felt that my wallet was SECURE! having had my passport stolen from my backpack riding the London tube many years ago, without me feeling a thing, i was very very insistent on finding the right size frontpack that would deter any pickpockets and thieves, yet not be a burden weighing me down. trust me: this is an absolute MUST BUY for everyone travelling around each day with the essentials needed for the day. please don't hesitate! can't say enough good about this bag.

I love the style, idea, materials, etc. and I hate I had to return it. The problem with the bag is that the dimensions are wrong and the shape is bad! It's not 5 inches deep. I tried to put a 3.5" tissue box in the bag and it wouldn't close b/c the box was too "deep"/wide. Also, the bag is shaped like a "D". The back is flat, but the body is arc shaped. So, square items, like the tissue box, don't fit unless they are considerably smaller. If you want something very compact and you're throwing small, loose items or something fabric like a face towel or underwear in it, it's great. If you're looking to take advantage of the 5" depth that it claims it has, don't, LOL!

Let me start with a disclaimer. I might be an osprey fanboy. This is my fourth osprey bag and they are ALL excellent. They have superb quality, comfortability and functionality. I have the Archeon 25 Rolltop, The Daylite, The Transporter Rolltop and now this sling. I love how lightweight the bag is. If it's not packed heavy, you could probably forget you are carrying it. I read reviews of people having concerns about the plastic connector which seems like it could be a point of failure. Because of my experience with several other Osprey products, I don't have that concern. It's very comparable to a Patagonia Atom sling that I had, but gifted to a family member. This just seems to fit a bit more comfortable for me, although the pocket on the Patagonia arm had more utility. This is quality. My only complaint is that the damn thing went on sale maybe 2 days after I purchased it at full price. I almost returned and reordered at the cheaper price, but I threw away all packaging because I knew from the start I was keeping it. If you like what you see, get it. It'll serve it's purpose.

I am going to Disney World and was looking for a smaller sling bag that held my phone & other items. This one was the perfect size. I like to use the front pocket for my phone (note: it is plenty big for larger phones + room for additional items with it). I appreciate the mesh zip inside with the hook for my keys. My water bottle fit in easily with plenty of space. I highly appreciate the ability to set your strap on the left or right side of the bag.Since I’ll be at Disney, I was happy to see there was a small strap at the top of my bag I could loop my Mickey ears lanyard onto (you can securely strap your ears so you don’t have to carry them or wear them all day). And if necessary (due to the unpredictable Florida rain) you can easily hide them away safely in the main section of the bag as well.Very satisfied. I look forward to using this bag on my trip. My only qualm is I wish the company produced a FULLY grey version of this bag. I’m sure my black bag will attract the heat. But I wanted a color to go with everything I wear, so black was the next best thing. And idk if I had seen a prototype or special beta test bag that was like a fully cool grey blue, but I would have loved to purchase that one if it were on the market. Just couldn’t find it anywhere but in pictures.

This is my favorite and go-to for travel and also just for running around town. The quality and value are impeccable as I expect from Osprey products. Used this on a trip to Switzerland and was perfect for day hikes. The space is larger than it looks as I can get a light weight rain jacket, my phone, sunglasses, lip balm, small sunscreen, Kleenex, and small water bottle in this bag for short hikes. For travel I remove the rain jacket and sunscreen and add my kindle and small airplane essentials, including a personal fan. I have gifted this bag to friends and to a new mom who prefers sporty to traditional baby bags. Thinking about getting a more colorful version!
