## Description

desertcart.com: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed : Video Games

Review: Criminally underrated - Wow, I adored this game. I had read so many mixed reviews, that I, frankly, wasn't expecting much (and I'll acknowledge the caveat that having lowered expectations makes things easier to enjoy, sometimes), but, sweet mother, WHAT a ride The Force Unleashed is. I haven't been a Star Wars fan in years, so I didn't get as much from the story as a fan of the series might, but the technology and the gameplay in this game is...out of this world, for lack of a better cliche. The DMM is mind-blowing. I replayed the Cloud City level so many times, just to smash the Ugnaughts through those glass monitors in the cantina countless ways. Then, when I got tired of that, I'd play with the Euphoria, and force lift them up a column, where they'd grab and hang and flail for a few seconds before giving in and falling into the abyss of Bespin. No wonder I ended up with the surprise "Bully" trophy. (Did the same thing in the Prologue level with Vader torturing the Stormtroopers, and ended up with the "Worst Day Shift Manager Ever" trophy, which made me guffaw.) This game floats around 20 bucks now--it's worth it for the technology alone, please believe me--although I admit I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff (DMM and Euphoria). I LOVED the Jedi fights in this game. I'm not a huge hack-and-slash fan, and I adored the way the game promoted mixing up your attacks between saber slashes, force pushes, and lighting--and throwing lightning-infused level objects at enemies too. This game is so much fun. PLUS, bonus, the much-maligned Star Destroyer "fight" isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It's pretty intuitive--but it IS the one time in the game I got annoyed with the targeting, when it came to destroying the TIE fighters. But, hey, it only took me about 10 minutes on Easy, on my first try--and I'm not particularly "good" at games. So don't let the Star Destroyer horror stories scare you off. This may very well be one of my favorite games of this generation, right up there with GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, and Red Faction Guerrilla. Just know I NEVER bought this game thinking that would be the result. I thought I'd have a little fun with the engines in it and put it away eventually...fortunately, the game turned out to be a COMPLETE surprise, and a shiny, underrated gem-of-a-game. I loved it so much I bought the overpriced DLC. My friends, that is a true ringing endorsement from a cheap-skate like me.
Review: Really enjoyable, great buy as a greatest hit - I bought the PSP version right when it came out and did enjoy it. After having played that I was not in a hurry to get the PS3 version until it came down to greatest hits price. Once it did, I bought it and have really enjoyed it. There are a lot of things to like about Force Unleashed. Interactive environments (very interactive environments), enjoyable force powers, good story line, even some humor thrown in. The graphics are good, not trailblazing, and the game play is not all hack and slash; you need to problem solve and use your force powers creatively. But when you want to unleash your light saber you can. The game was well thought out and has if not super highpoints of the best PS3 games, a lot of solid and enjoyable points. At the greatest hits price, must get for a Star Wars fan and a very good get for anyone who isn't.

**Q: Will this work in Australia?**
A: Yes, the PlayStation games are region free.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lucasarts hits the nail on the head
*by J***S on February 10, 2013*

In my opinion Star Wars the force unleashed (tfu) is the best it could be. With beautiful visuals, fantastic story, great cherector backstory and depth. It makes the perfect entry in the fantastic Star Wars saga. Gameplay is IMO similar to god of war only with camera control. Voice acting is great. The only flaw to me is the option to make the ending non cannon. The ending was very emotional (dont worry, no spoilers.) the dlc is also good With costumes and extra levels. Doing damage to storm troopers and rebels never gets old to me. I recommend it for ages 12 and up.
