I spray it and then am able to easily brush through the bottom part of my hair to keep it from looking stiff & it works beautifully! It sprays just like any other can of hairspray. Works well, and leaves hair shiny. **Q: How is the smell? Does it smell like chemicals or something nice and sweet?** A: It's actually a nice smell - not chemical-like. Not really sweet but nice. **Q: Does this cause any hair damage ?** A: Not for me. I'm 72, have lots of hair (which is why I use TIGI for control) and no damage whatsoever. I'm a guy and I hate my hair (it's super thin and dry) so I have to use American Crew Fiber just to give it some thickness and volume, but it makes my hair look even dryer which looks HORRIBLE. But thank God, this spray adds a ton of shine (wet look) and as a huge bonus, it actually holds everything perfectly in place (my hair usually droops down at the top and gets puffy on the sides). Like I said, I hate my hair, but this spray fixes all of these problems. And idk why everyone hates the smell, I think it smells really good and fruity like a pineapple.
