It finishes to a matte black semi rough texture which I assume is to match factory trim that designed that way. I personally used it to black out the entire chrome grille on my gloss black car, and it looks great. Review: Man I love this stuff. Jeep Wrangler's fender flares are notorious for fading grey quickly. I've seen so many products and stupid ways of making them black but nothing compares to this stuff. Make sure you really prep the plastic. The flares are actually really easy to remove, but def buy a pack of the clips (one that has plenty of each type of clip) you will probably break some removing them and like me hada few on each fender already broke. But really prep them, cleaning, removing oils, grease, etc. Use a panel prep too. Once I cleaned them, they were unbelievably grey, I've never seen mine that grey bc all the products that were used on it. Anyways, this stuff sprays amazing, levels perfectly, holds up permanently, looks like new, not too shiny either, just right. Took about a day from removing them and spraying them, than I let them sit for another full day. You can spray next coat very quickly, so the whole spraying process is short. Basically spray one, move on to the next, and the next, and come back to the first one for another layer. I think all in all, I got about 3 coats on each fender. If so, what kind is recommended? Reason I ask is due to marks left from bird droppings** A: USC makes a aerosol clear 3680061, However we cannot guarantee results, surface would also need to be properly prepped, scuffed to ensure adhesion **Q: The spray comes out somewhat spotty/blotchy, is there a correct way to clean it or is it supposed to come out like this?** A: Well it souldn't be splotchy; if the can is going to sit unused for over 20 minutes, invert the can and spray onto scrap until cleared of spray. If the nozzle is somewhat clogged, clean it up with acetone and a very find pin. Fine abrasive, paper or steel wool should clean up the already sprayed. I don't know if acetone or some other solvent can be used after the paint has set up. Very clean surface is needed: no oil, grease, or hand prints. Oh yes, shake the can for at minimum 1 1/2 minutes before using. That marble in the bottom of can really need to sound sharp when it hits the bottom of the can. Also, best use it at room temperature. If cold, test it first on a piece of scrap. Read the directions about how far the can should be from the surface. And read about the time between sprays. I've used SEM 39143 for my old toy cars for years. Guess they can put out a bad can, so test spray scrap. Good luck. **Q: Can this paint be used on metal trim with out primer?** A: It is for plastic trim. If you want to use it on metal I would use primer so it sticks well. It will be a little thick after a few coats. **Q: Can cera trim....a ceramic rubber and plastic coating by Last Coat be applied over this when cured..thank you?** A: Most likely. The before video shows 11 years of Florida sun on my Jeep JK fenders. The Trim Black spray brought them back to like new. I am extremely impressed.
