Why does the photo of this battery show a blank label without the printing as on the battery which came with my1DX2?

For some reason that seems to be the norm for some places. Our concern, as you know, is it really a Canon product and not a knock-off. Your camera will tell you that when it's inserted in the camera. You just have to be certain that the battery is returnable to the purchasing source and also check the history of the company from the reviews posted. I bought one on line it was a genuine Canon product when it came, with the proper stickers, etc. You might check with Canon purchasing and they could have some good pricing on new batteries or tell you what dealers you can depend on. They did that for me one time with one of my 1D X, Mark II bodies. I needed one really quick and they didn't have them in stock and sent me to a good dealer. There were no stickers on the battery when viewed on line just like you are showing here.

Can this battery be used in the older Canon 1D cameras?

Hello McD,Here is a complete listing of the backward and forward compatibility- Directly from Canon.In short, the battery can be used with some previous 1D cameras, but you would need to purchase the specific LC-E19 charger.
