I use it and it works with my Lenovo T490 and MSI G75. Now, one thing that you have to know is that in some cases, if your laptop cannot handle the bandwidth used by the DVI and the downstream thunderbolt ports at the same time, you have to use one of these ports then. For example, on my MSI I can use the DVI and thunderbolt ports at the same time, but on my T490 I can't, this causes a power surge. Running at 4k60 on a wide color space I had issues with three different adapters in the past giving me some choppiness but more importantly seemingly desaturating the images and creating a halo around high contrast. Here are some pros and cons of the CalDigit adapter: Pros: - No halos or choppiness like I had seen in the past! - Fantastic build quality, the aluminum finish is great and the cable feels firm and rugged. - HDR works perfectly, cannot say the same for other adapters in the past.
