I want a remote wireless indoor sensor and this vision pro8000 thermostat.  must i also buy a red link enabled internet gateway??

I did not need an internet gateway.  I use one indoor remote sensor.  It was installed in the summer of 2014, and has been working as expected.  Maybe newer models have different requirements, though.
