I put a whole bunch of cleaners in bottles and boxes of dog treats, etc. maybe 20 lbs? Just wanted to get a word in here that the instructions are terrible and it took two of us HOURS and we still had to kind of force it together, so how much it can hold will depend on if you can figure that out because the weight the lower ones can hold depend on how well the upper ones are fastened. We ended up putting it on the floor of a closet because it was more stable. I'm not sure I'd recommend this, but the baskets are pretty strong and the hooks are very strong. I wouldn't overload it like I did. Would keep under 5 lbs/basket maybe, though it can probably hold double that. The real issue is whether your bar or brace you hang it from can handle that weight. Ours crashed down.
