I used this recently on a 10 hour job to repair a leaking oil filter housing gasket, oil change and swapping in new pulleys, and they remained sturdy. I never felt unsafe even during extended periods under my car. I also used the trolley jack to provide secondary support under the front subframe. Finally, its important you select this variant with the locking pins for extra safety. There is a cheaper of version of these stands without the locking pin which I don't recommend. Spend the extra for peace of mind. Just make sure the locking pins do make sufficient contact with the "teeth". Some users have reported that the locking pins make little to no contact which I presume is a manufacturing defect. I just used them this weekend for brake job. I would do a search in google to find the max height, they also make some stands that are meant for SUVs which go higher. If you need to get a transmission out or something like that these wont go high enough. **Q: What are the min and max height for these please? What are the base outside dimensions please? Or is it 3000 lbs per pair?** A: These jacks are rated for 3 tons for the pair, meaning evenly distributed across two jack stands (the pair). This means that the load placed on the PAIR should not exceed 3 tons. Using 4 stands to lift a 4 corners of a vehicle is not recommended and the pair should be used for both sides of the front or both sides of the rear, not to be used for lifting a single side of the vehicle at the front and rear point. Whether a single stand or a pair of stands, the rated capacity is a 3 ton, balanced and centered load. The regulations, at least as it relates to the US, are quite specific on this. **Q: missing safety pin. where can I find or purchase it?** A: Thats a good question? A missing pin means poor quality control. The safety pins that came with mine wouldn't fit properly, therefore these jacks are not safe. I returned these unsafe jacks and ordered better ones from a different seller. Are you sure you want to try and buy missing parts and use these jacks?
