even though this says rapid relief, you still need to make sure you take them several days for the effect, but at least it's not several weeks like the other ones. I use them for traveling in altitudes. I start taking them about 3 days before I go to higher elevations and for a few days after. they help.

This stuff helps!! It’s not always enough but if you’re trying to reduce use of pain meds this does really help, and sometimes gets rid of the migraine.

I can mostly manage my migraines through diet and lifestyle choices, but there are a lot of trigger factors that are outside of my control (mainly hormones, stress, and poor sleep). I asked my doctor if I could get a Rx for something stronger/better than the usual OTC stuff to use in those instances where I'm unable to stave a migraine off. She flat-out refused and told me to try Migrelief. I was really skeptical especially because I have had really bad experiences with magnesium in the past- very bad stomach upset. And I already had told her I didn't want to take something every day, i Just needed it for those acute migraine situations.So when I saw they had a version of it that you take as-needed, I decided to give it a try. Much to my surprise, it really does work. It also works much faster than NSAIDs or acetomenophen. I was really scared to take 4 pills which is what it says to start with, so I just started with 2. I didn't even have to take any more. I have taken it a few times now with good success. It could be a coincidence; I was taking it at the onset so maybe it would not have developed into a full-blown migraine anyways. I also haven't taken it with an aura yet. YMMV but it's worth a try, especially since you can easily OD on tylenol and NSAIDs wreak havoc on your gut.Incidentally, regarding dosage, I am on the smaller side as far as adults go. So maybe I just don't need the full dose.

I take one capsule along with a painkiller like advil or tylenol and most of the times it stops an oncoming migraine. In severe cases I repeat every 4 hours.I also take every day at morning and evening the yellow MigreLief and I can say confidently that this has helped significantly with my sensitivity to migraines. So, on top of that, on difficult days, I take up to 3 of the MigreLief - Now per day.

Works well, but gave me diarrhea.

I following the labeling instructions and took four caps at the beginning of a migraine, another two caps two hours later. I developed *extreme* nausea and vomiting that got worse over the course of three days despite the Zofran I'm given for migraines. By day three I was having alternating sweating and chills, pervasive goosebumps, felt like I wanted to die. It took me several days to realize that the N/V was being caused by the *magnesium* in the MRN, which has bad, bad side effects at high doses [...]:Presentation of hypermagnesaemiaFeatures include:Nausea and vomiting.Facial flushing.Hypotension..Paralytic ileus (due to smooth muscle paralysis).Weakness, followed by flaccid muscle paralysis.Disappearance of deep tendon reflexes.Respiratory depression.BradycardiaComplete heart block or cardiac arrest (at levels >6.0-7.5 mmol/L).Investigations for hypermagnesaemiaSerum magnesium level.Hypocalcaemia is often present and these levels should also be checked.TFTs and an early morning cortisol test should be performed if hypermagnesaemia is unexplained, recalcitrant or recurrent.ECG.Hypermagnesaemia managementUsually withdrawal of the cause, if excessive intake, will solve the problem.It should be preventable by monitoring if Mg-containing medication is being used, especially in those with poor renal function.Hypermagnesaemia can be corrected using IV calcium. I take a fistful of prophylactic and abortive meds for my chronic migraines. I got my first bottle of this yesterday, took four caps when I arrived home with a burgeoning headache, and had relief within an hour and no side effects, which is more than I can say for the Voltaren/Midrin/Zofran cocktail I have from my neuro. Just ordered a few more bottles--spares for the house and one to keep at work.One drawback: It is kind of expensive for what you get, as you can use up to 6 caps for one headache. However, it's still a better return on investment than most of my Rxs and *definitely* preferable to a trip to the ER!

It really is helping the migraines. I haven’t taken Excedrine in a month.
