Question 1

I made rice and it came out hard.  I suspect its because I live at an elevation of 7400 ft.  Do you have instructions for high elevation cooking?

When you go above 5000', you need to experiment.  Consider the recommended water ratio at 5000' is TWO cups per one cup of rice, and 20-25 minutes to cook in a microwave.  You might try 2 cups : 1 cup, and cook for 25 minutes at 75% - 100% power.  At your altitude, even the humidity and pressure becomes a factor, and thus an enclosed / pressure rice cooker might be better for you.  You can also try pre-soaking your rice before cooking it.

Will this fit in a smaller size microwave?  How tall is it?

Any issues with getting the rice cooker out of the microwave at end of cooking - HOT handles?

i dont have this unit - I do have a similar setup, same brand,  for a microwave cooker - just not the rice - but obviously it is hot when you take it out  - as it has been heated in the microwave. Simply use potholders and you will be fine
