Well worth the money. Top tier bow
Had this bow just under two years now. I was happy with it out the box and even more happy with it today. Prior bow was a pawn shop Matthew’s solo cam, great bow but honestly I’d say the sanlidas every bit as well preforming if not better. When I tell you I sighted it in one single time and it hasn’t budged a hair. Ive dropped it 30ft from the stand twice. Banged it around. Killed two deer with it last season. I hadn’t shot an arrow in months and my daughter asked if I could hit a styrofoam plate at 45 yards downhill. First arrow hit the plate after sitting in the closet all winter. Only complaint is I wish it could tune up a little higher. Im 6’3” 200 lbs. Ive got it maxed on draw and length and would love to have it draw to 80 and hold more flat in the 50yardish range. Be warned the release provided is sufficient but not for long. You will eventually snap it mid draw. I highly suggest not letting it get to that point and get a quality one soon. Other than that this is one of those scenarios you don’t have to spend a grand or but from a shop to have a reliable consistent bow. I had never adjusted draw lengths or tuned a bow completely by myself until this one and it is possible. It’s so user friendly I wouldn’t even call it difficult. Would recommend this bow for beginners all the way to intermediate hunters. If you don’t have show off a logo or care about what other guys think then you can’t beat a sanlida.

Best Bow For the Money!
I purchased this bow for my 11 year old grandson. It’s a great package for the money and something he can certainly grow into. Easy to set up and adjust to any shooter as long as their draw length isn’t more than 31”. I think. I was able to do everything myself except setting up the peep sight with tubing and adding the kisser button. The local archer store that. I had already measured his draw length and cut the 12 included arrows to his size with a little extra for growth. The bow is nice, looks good and sights are good to work with. I don’t think you can go wrong with this bow package no matter who it’s for.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASIC BOW!
Only reason I'm giving this bow 4 stars is because I've almost replaced everything that came with it. The 4 star is not anything to do with the bow itself the bow is 5 stars! I've owned this bow for 3 years now and am rewriting my review to give it the justice it deserves. Ive shot this bow everday at 29 inch draw and set to 70 pounds 100 arrows a day with absolutely zero problems. I wished they would sell the bow itself and let you customize it how you want. First I got rid of the arrow rest that came with it. ITS JUNK! I replaced it with a drop away string driven rest that I found here on amazon. Added a rubber ledge pad to hold nocked arrows with no noise also found here on amazon. Second I made my own hand sling out of black paracord custom to my hand size. Third I bought self adhesive camo wrap to wrap my handle with to provide some comfort and better grip on the bow handle and to give a little bit of warmth to a metal handle for hunting. It also reduced some of the vibration of the bow. Added some of the wrap to my arrow rest to reduce noise and camo it a little better. It makes no noise now when drawn and is a very smooth draw cycle. Forth I got rid of the horrible blue and black fletched arrows that came with it. There too flexible and light to be shot at 70 pounds and everyone of the nocks broke at 70 pound. They are not a good match for the bow because of the weight and flexibility. The energy that should be going into the arrow does not and instead is going into the bow itself VERY BAD FOR BOW! I now shoot carbon express terminator hunters 55-70 arrows found at Walmart for $9.97 a arrow and cut them down to the length I need with a hack saw and a little sand paper to flatten it out level. I take a small hand torch and heat the end of the arrow to loosen the glue and remove the insert to glue into my cut arrow and glue with 1,000 pound crazy glue. I also replaced the nocks on those as well with lighted nocks I bought here on Amazon for $14 for 6. Fifth I bought limb saver dampeners from here on amazon as well as monkey tail string dampeners. I kept the original sight that came with the bow I see no need to replace it, it works well I can shoot dime size dots on my arrow stop. Sixth I'm currently ordering a camo 5 inch stabilizer from here on amazon that actually has weights in it for better balance. The one that comes with it has no weights in it and is more a dampener than stabilizer. I've kept the arrow quiver that came with it works great. I did buy a new release just because i wanted a better quality release but the one that came with it never misfired on me and I shot 1,000's of arrows with it. You will have to build your bow yourself and learn how to properly tune it for accuracy. There are many videos on youtube to teach you how to do it. The reason I love this bow so much is because you don't need to give your money to a con bow shop to work on it. You can replace the strings yourself with out a bow press if you back the limb screws out evenly on both sides of the bow down to zero pounds and the strings will come off easy and than you can replace them with strings from here on amazon for $29. The strings that came with it I've had since I've bought the bow 3 years old and all I do is wax them every 4-5 shooting sessions. If you replace the strings you will have to learn how to properly tie in a peep sight NOT HARD and how to tie a d-loop NOT HARD plenty of videos on youtube to walk you through the process. Check your screws on the bow every 4-5 shooting sessions just for peace of mind and to insure no bow damage. Never have had them back out but its just a preventive so you never need a bow shop. I absolutely do not regret any of the money I've spent on the bow and accessories I've bought for it. This bow is fantastic it's one of my favorite purchases yet. If your on the fence about buying it don't be but you will have to do some learning youtube has helped me every step of the way. I went from never having shot a compound bow to being in love with archery and a fantastic shot now that I've learned what I needed to from youtube. This bow if taken care of properly will last and work flawlessly for you. I'm finally confident enough in my shooting abilities and gear to go bow hunting now. This bow is not a cheaply made bow and has plenty of power it will give you a accurate shot that will pass cleanly threw a deer. Hope this helps any future buyers in the right direction of what to replace and what you can expect from this bow. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOW AND WILL BUY AGAIN IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO MINE! All the photos your seeing of exploded bows are from the geniuses that dry fired or did not properly nock a arrow in the bow or they are using the arrows provided in the kit. Do not use the arrows that come with the bow your basically dry firing the bow with the wrong arrows. They did it to themselves but wont admit it because they want there money back from there mistake. NEVER EVER DRY FIRE YOUR BOW FOR ANY REASON IF AN ARROW FALLS AWAY LET THE BOW BACK DOWN DO NOT FIRE! Good luck future hunters/archers!

Pretty decent bow for the price! Does need some improvement!
This bow worked well when we first got it. After several practice shots and trying to get it tuned in we had to replace the strings. This was my first bow. We had it sighted in but then it started to shoot every few shots were off. We were told the bearings in the cams needed replacing but it really just needed to be put in a bow press for the cams to be lined up correctly. It was relatively quick to have adjusted, we took it to cabelas they have a press on sight. It's not too heavy, but heavy enough you know it will work. Speed is super fast there is good force behind it. I would recommend this bow to anyone with a need for one! Just keep in mind you may need to have another set of strings or someone who can restring it for you after a between 4-6 weeks of having it. Also keep in mind that if it is your first bow do your own research because some places are out to get you for your money . The best thing you can do is just take it to the pros at places like bass pro or cabelas to be repaired. If you need new strings you should order from Amazon because they are hard to find the right brand at a low cost anywhere else. You can also pay cabela's to restring and tune your bow in. You do need the same brand of strings for this particular bow. Overall a pretty decent bow for the price. There is always room for improvements. If cams were a stronger material they may not have the give they had after a while. It was easily able to be corrected but just taking to someone who specializes in dealing with this type of bow. We more then likely would have had to have had it restrung anyways after how many times it was shot. Definitely a great price and we still came out better getting this for a lower cost and having it restrung then it cost for some bows out there. This is a great starter bow!

Great for price
Very good bow, smooth draw cycle, high quality material, and shoots very fast and quiet for 50 lbs. only thing I would say is replace the sight, rest, stabilizer, and arrows.

decent bow but ..
I will revise this after I get it all set up and put some arrows through it. My first impression is the bow is well constructed but the accessories and instructions are not good at all. I come from 20 years of recurve bow as a reference. I have serious doubts that the included arrows are 500.. They feel very weak. the bow should clearly say what draw weight and draw length they ship with. You cant make accurate adjustments without knowing your starting point. The instructions are my biggest complaint.. Seriously if you are going to market this bow for beginners you need a good instruction and installation manual. The ad here on Amazon says that you dont need a bow press to make weight adjustments and then the flimsy instruction flier dedicates 2 full pages to using a bow press to adjust weight.. Im not saying this bow is bad but its definitely in need of better instructions. Im also not thrilled with the quiver installation instructions.. theres nothing in the set manual at all on that and the downloadable pdf I found in the Amazon ad is pretty useless. .. also made complicated by a defective quiver mount I received. .The piece that should rotate needs a vice grip to move.. I hope with some breaking in it will improve. Havent shot the bow yet but will add more review when I do. Updating May 31..If I could drop a star more for lack of customer service I would. They responded to me but really just gave me lip service . "Our DragonX8 RTH kits, which include a set of 12 , are priced at an unbeatable value of $199.99. It's a competitive price that reflects our commitment to providing high-quality products at the best possible value. Please understand that at this price point, we are operating at the thinnest of margins, essentially offering these kits at cost to ensure our customers receive the best deal. Many customers will upgrade their own accessories to suit their needs. In order to provide better after-sales service for your purchased products, please search Sanlidaoutdoor online and fill in the warranty form. Upon submission, we will initiate the after-sales service process on your behalf" They missed the point though that if you have to buy better arrows to make the most of their bow its not really costing you $199. . I have since replaced the arrows with easton 2016 Lite arrows and good quality carbons. I replaced the release. The release sent was not reliable at draw which was very dangerous. The arrows that were sent with the bow were not good at all out of any of my bows. Buyer beware, you will probably be replacing much of their included kit. This manufacturer really could take more time to listen to its customers. Theres no excuse for a lack of adequate clear instructions and sub par accessories. The bow itself is a good bow....but they really miss the mark on the instructions and gear and really thats a huge liability since this bow will be used largely by novices. Update July 2025, I have been shooting this bow now for a while and its been performing well however did have the peep sight go flying off on me. Not really sure why but I guess it wasn't tied in well.

Great starting bow
I decided to pick up archery as a hobby and at first I wanted to buy a bear compound bow but they don’t deliver to PR, so I found this bow package and based on all the reviews online I went and bought it. Freaking love it. Easy to sight, easy to shoot and easy to tune and this come from someone who’s one and only bow experience was with this bow. I’ll post pics of my first time shooting. The first pic was me sighting the bow the others was me shooting @10 and 15 yards with 9mph winds. Amazing starter bow. *update* I tuned it for heavier draw weight from 35 up to 63 pounds, very easy to do and with no need of bow press. I bought the instruments to make sure the cords and the arrow are centered and a tool to check draw weight and everything very simple to set up. Have since shot it from about 23 yards and very good

From a Newbie: Couldn't Be Happier
(*Note* I will be uploading pictures later) I am a beginner archer in every sense of the word. I have taken 1 class, and it was actually with recurve bows, so compound bows are foreign to me. I've always wanted to go bow hunting with the friends that do, so I wanted a good entry level bow that won't break the bank in the event that I change my mind down the line. I spent a good amount of time researching bows, and was all set to go with another brand that was well reviewed, but then the Sanlida Dragon X8 popped up. I did some researching on it and decided to give it a shot. Didn't hurt my wallet and it sounded pretty good. I received the bow and put everything together. Arrows are pretty bad, but who cares? I didn't purchase the bow for the arrows. I went out and got some high quality ones. The attachments seem pretty basic, but really good. They were easy to install, stay on tight, and are easy to adjust. The quiver is nice as well. It has some foam at the top for field tips, but there is some empty space in the hood for expandable arrows as well. After adjusting the draw length (make sure you set it by the line on the cams and not the numbers themselves), setting the draw weight, and watching some YouTube videos on self-tuning a bow, I was consistently hitting bullseyes at 15-20 yards. I plan to take it in to get professionally tuned as well, but I couldn't be happier with the early performance of this bow. I HIGHLY recommend this for beginners, and maybe even intermediate archers as well!

exceeded my expectations
I received my Sanlida Dragon X 8 compound bow kit in June of 2003 and while I was immediately impressed with the bow and accessories I decided to wait until I got to experience it's performance before writing a review. It's now 6 months later and after hundreds of arrows down range I can honestly say I have no regrets, in fact, the club members I often shoot with ( all have way more experience and skill than I possess ) tried the bow and ranked it's performance comparable to their high end expensive bows. I am so impressed with the Sanlida product that I am seriously considering the purchase of their Royal X8 recurve @ 55# and try my hand at traditional archery
