A good, helpful fidget with a fun, creative twist!
I bought Gnome Home to help with pulling and picking and general sensory processing issues and it has been so helpful. The tin arrived in great condition, in a cute box, and I appreciate that they arenโt plastic. No leakage or sticking, the lid came off slowly the first time but no issues. I accidentally dropped it on a fleece blanket and it doesnโt stick at all, the stretch is good and texture-wise it has a nice firmness and little lumps and bumps from the fimo clay mushrooms and gnomes. I also really enjoyed the search for the six gnomes and was excited when I found them all! I love the little sparkle it has and read their glitter is biodegradable, so thatโs a plus too! Overall Iโve found this to be a soothing, successful fidget and look forward to trying different textures from Aaronโs.

Quality silly putty, but clear!
This review is in two parts, first Thinking Putty, second the individual color review. Thinking Putty - This is basically silly putty. Same feel, texture, material (silicone, which doesn't dry out), etc. What is different though is that you get a lot more then those small and even big egg shells. You get 1/5 a pound, or 3.2 ounces. Basically the tin covers your entire palm area easily. Although the tin is half full so it isn't too hard to put it back in. The other difference is that these come in much better colors, well unless you like the coral pink of silly putty. These colors make Thinking putty special. You can get all the primary colors, red, white, black, blue, green, etc. OK, those aren't hard to imagine. Then there are metallic and electrics. These I believe have mica in them. They are shiny and have swirls slightly darker and lighter colors. I say slightly. Think of a pearl or dull metal. Then there are the color changers. The use heat to change color to a lighter version of the color. Cool to return to the original shade. And the glow in the darks. One color during daylight, another at night. And these do no use the glow material they used 10-20 years ago. This is more expensive but glows some 10X longer. And then there are two special colors. Magnetic, which is slightly or slowly if you prefer magnetic. And glass, which is clear. For more on these, please see other reviews. Is thinking color kids? No. Give them silly putty. It is cheaper. If they love that, then give them this. Also this is called thinking putty because it is for adults to mush around while they are thinking. Or think of it like a stress ball. ---------- Liquid Glass. I just got this a day ago, so this review is mostly first impressions, a little playing with it. Let me get to the point, I love it. This is my favorite thinking putty so far I have three). This is clear, like glass when you get it. In fact when you first open you may feel the tin is empty. You can clearly see the bottom of the tin. But look closer and you can see little air bubbles or the top glossy surface. I mean this stuff is crystal clear as glass. First thing I suggest you do is press your thumb in the top. It is neat to see your finger print pressed into glass. I have heard the old version of this was stickier then the other "colors". I didn't notice much difference. But then again maybe if I let this sit in my hand and warm up a lot it might. I actually spent most of the time playing with it in the tin. I do wonder how it will hold up with a lot of play. Other colors if you get dust or a hair in it it is not a big deal as it will get buried and you won't see it. But with this, you see everything. So you might want to divide up the match and only play with 1/2 or 1/3 and keep the clear for non hand holding... Remember, I have only had this a day so I don't know how it will hold up for clarity. Of course it should still be a putty like any other. I do notice that liquid glass is more liquid then the other colors of putty. Over night it will fill the bottom of the container, where other colors will flatten out but not fill out or even have a nice smooth top. Also note that if you play with this putty in your hand it will get cloudy with your finger prints. But after a few minutes it will clear up again. Also you will see how many air bubbles you add to it by playing. For me, I like glass, I love watching the glass blowers, etc. I love this thinking putty. Liquid glass is my favorite and I plan to get more.

So Awesome!
I have over a dozen Crazy Aaron's putties, and this hidden gnome one is definitely one of my favorites. It is so visually appealing and just packed with cool mushrooms and glitter. The texture of all the clay pieces inside while playing with it is just fantastic as well. And like most other Aaron's putties, the pieces inside (including the glitter) stay in the putty; you don't even get any glitter stuck to your hands while playing with it. Also, strangely, mine came smelling exactly like sugar cookies. This isn't marketed as a scented putty, and I noticed some other people have said it stinks, but to me it smells just like sugar cookies. For reference, none of my other Aaron's putties have any smell, aside from maybe a very faint glue-like scent on a couple of them. I also need to point out that nearly every single negative review is plain wrong, as they all stem from the putty partially leaking or usually from it being a little separated or seemingly "dried out." The fact is that this stuff doesn't dry out. Yes, since it is putty, it will move around in the canister during shipping, toward wherever down is oriented. This means it might separate a little or get pieces stuck between the lid and jar or even leak out a little. That's literally just the nature of any putty or slime or goop, etc. Every single jar I've gotten, whether from Amazon or somewhere else, has moved and stuck to various parts of the jar by the time I open it. Literally, all you have to do is grab the main clump of putty and use it to pull the other bits off of the lid and canistet or even the inside of the package if it leaked. It takes less than a minute, it's unavoidable, it's well worth the miniscule amount of trouble, and the putty is still in perfect condition. And as long as you don't store it sideways, it's the only time you'll have to do it. Hey yourself some of this putty, it'd so well worth it.

This Prouduct Dioesn't Deliver. Don't Expect It to Stretch. No Refunds- Find a better source such as ptoducts on Ebay or Etsy
This is a product you can do without. I am currently writing a book about slime as a guide for parents detailing the benefits of creating and playing with slime, the best approach and tips for making slime, the products to buy, the cleanup, and so on. Although I believe the real joy of slime comes from making your own, I am also evaluating the various slimes available for purchase on Amazon, Ebay and the numerous profusion of new slime stores selling their homemade creations on Etsy. So yes, this aspect requires purchasing a lot of product. I couldn't wait to get my hands on Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty. It is a #1 best seller in slime and putty on Amazon. His 3.2 ounce cans of putty come in 25 appealing varieties, each dubbed with a creative name. The putties are prime and fulfilled by Amazon, selling for $13.99/can. Crazy Aaron has close to four thousand reviews with an average rating of 3.5 stars. I ordered 5 tins of his liquid glass putty, as this type is the most difficult kind for kids to create on their own. I thought my grandchildren would enjoy them. The product was delivered in a timely manner and was extremely well- packaged. Unfortunately, the putty was unusable as it immediately ripped when stretched. It did arrive on a very cold day and perhaps was frozen. This may have permanently destroyed its elasticity. Realizing this was a possibility, I waited a few days before opening it. What a disappointment. When I attempted to return the canisters, a message on the screen alerted me that refunds were not available. $70.00 out the door. The worst part was that when I sent a text to Crazy Aaron explaining the problem, I never received a reply. Of the other numerous slimes and putties I ordered, including those that were liquid glass, despite the freezing temperatures, all arrived in excellent condition with a little bag of borax in case they were under- activated. The one exception was a 12-pack of colored clear-glue slimes that were over-activated and ripped when stretched. I had no problem obtaining a refund. Aaron's add promises, "Hours of fun, great for all ages." The joy of slime does not come from THINKING. The fun comes from feeling the textures and smells, the stimulation of creativity, while the mind simultaneously stops its ever present inner dialogue, allowing one to just delight in the experience. The name THINKING PUTTY has to go.

A Sticky Situation
Crazy Aaronโs Putty World is great. Their Thinking Putties are non-toxic, free of major allergens, and are manufactured in the USA. The target audience is adults but you can find it in the toy section of stores like Target. But heed the choking hazard for children 3 and younger. They have so many different colors and effects, the products are mesmerizing and maybe a little addictive. My journey with Crazy Aaronโs Thinking putty began back over the summer. I received a trial size tin in a โCollege Survival Kitโ and thought it was the coolest thing. A nice, rich blue color fun to squish and stretch. The amount in the tin reminded me of the amount in an egg of Silly Putty. I looked into the product more and ended up purchasing one of the color changing putties, the Twilight one that goes from purple to blue. The company founder has a blurb about how this product โisnโt your average morsel of silly puttyโ or something along those lines. I was very satisfied with the amount and texture but the color I wasnโt thrilled with so when my mom decided to get everyone in my family a tin for christmas I requested the Liquid Glass. Because how cool does Liquid Glass sound? Completely clear? Awesome! My mom ordered a number of different tins for each of us (various styles of the putty- Precious Gems, the Lava one, the small tin of iridescent putty) off Amazon and wrapped them up for Christmas. On Christmas day when I went to open up the can and use it for the first time I could not get the darn thing open. It took my whole family, a rubber jar opener, and a flathead screwdriver to finally work the lid free. The putty had seeped up into the lip of the tin and essentially glued the tin shut! I went about salvaging as much from the edges as possible in an attempt to clean the tin . The putty was incredibly sticky and I had trouble getting it off the tin and into one blob. It crumbled into tiny sticky pieces as I rubbed it off the tin and then tried to gather it. I was already frustrated from the hour and multiple failed attempts that it took to get the container open, and now I was stuck with a putty that did not live up to the otherโs standards. I went online to look into what was wrong with my putty and found the disclaimer on both Amazon and Putty Worldโs website that states that โLiquid Glass flows and moves differently than other Thinking Putty because of its unique formulation and will turn cloudy when handled.โ Yeah, okay, that all made sense, but there was definitely something wrong with my batch. It stuck more to my hands and left my hands feeling a bit sticky once I put it away. We emailed the company. Something to note: Amazon is not an approved reseller despite the companyโs 100% money back guarantee. We had to jump a few hoops and request our issue be forwarded up to a supervisor in order to sort it out. We were told that a batch of the Liquid Glass putty had been shipped out in the wrong container and that mine was probably one of them. They ignored the fact that mine seemed to be an incorrect consistency, saying that if the putty got dirty with lotion or water or hand sanitizer that it could ruin the texture of the putty, despite the fact that it had come (fully packaged, plastic seal and all) that way. As if the stickiness was my fault. I tried to find out what the putty made of and came up empty handed, but needless to say they make it clear that Liquid Glass is a unique composition from the others. We got sent a replacement and once again it came glued shut by the leaked putty. I had it with me at college and none of us could get it open, I had to wait weeks until I went home to have my dad get it open like he had the first one. But once I got it open, this batch was better. Still stickier than other putties from the brand, and sure enough not nearly as stretchy, but that was as to be expected. This time, it left my hands feeling free of any sort of residue. I love Crazy Aaronโs Thinking Putty, I really do. The rest of their putties are great. What I learned is that you just canโt expect the Liquid Glass putty to be like the others. Their disclaimer, while not always obviously advertised, is accurate. I gave the Liquid Glass 3 stars where I would all others 5 or maybe 4 because of the continuing issues it has with packaging my frustration over the bad batch. I highly suggest this not be the first Thinking Putty you try, because it wonโt relieve any stress when you first try to get it open. Go for one of the other types, and come back for this when you want it for the coolness factor rather than the play and relax factors. And go in expecting the difference to avoid at least some of the frustration.
