A: You will need to fill the bowl with sand or salt before putting the burning sage in, as the bowl will eventually heat up.

**Q: Would this be a good bowl for a burning bowl ceremony?**
A: I believe so. I had used it for burning palo Santo and ancestor money and the bowl has held up. If you are still unsure if this offering bowl is the right one for you, contact the manufacturer or do a bit more research before purchasing any bowl.

**Q: Can you a charcoal in this bowl to burn resins?**
A: I burn things like sage in mine. I would put sand in the bottom just to absorbe some of the direct heat from your charcole.

**Q: Can I burn essential oil in this? And how many ounces can it hold?**
A: Personally, I would NOT burn essential oils in this bowl. I would only use it to burn sage or Palo santo. I would suggest using a diffuser for essential oils since they are safer. Always research any product that you are considering purchasing for oil based products.
