Just a few quick words. I have had at least four suck-and-seal appliances over the years including a Weston Pro 2300, a Seal-a-Meal, a chamber vacuum, and this Potane, which is by far my favorite. I've had it now for 8 months and use it daily. It's quiet, easy to operate, and reliable. I have never had a seal fail. Compared to the more expensive brads I've owned, this is simply the best and one of the least expensive. What's not to love?

very easy to operate. the budget price range for the quality unit is good. small countertop footprint if left out. i did how ever plugged it into a kill switch so it's not always on stand by. had a brain freeze moment operations issue and reached out to manufacturer customer service regarding warranty and received lightening prompt response. my situation was an overlooked duh... (not as stupid as "is it powered on?" but pretty close, ha ha ha) and not replacement but that definitely indicates they are on top of things with their products.

In my many decades of purchasing items I have seldom found a company to be as helpful and dedicated to making sure my product was perfect in every way. Potane came with a 5 year warranty. I purchased it in June, 2023. At first it was wonderful and then it began getting lazy and the upper gasket started falling loose and would not vacuum the air out. I replaced it and it worked for awhile and then lower gasket kept coming out. I said words I did not know I knew. I kept trying to make both gaskets stay in and do their job. Finally just a week ago I emailed the company and to my surprise even though it was a week-end they sent me a nice reply, They asked for a picture of the open unit so they could see problem. They suggested I might try a drop of two of glue to hold it in place. I sent picture and they replied immediately that they could see the problem and would send me a brand new Potane same model to arrive within a few days. It did, and just in time for my birthday! Wahoo! I am proud to say that it works beautifully and expect it will continue to do so. What a great company to do business with. Great service and great product! I purchased the Potane vacuum sealer originally May 30, 2022. I read tons of reviews on different brands, models, etc. I finally decided on this model because of the five-year warranty, the suction power, the wet/dry setting, and the canning attachment. Since getting the unit, I used it 2-3 times a day for everything from sealing chip bags, sealing cheese, keeping coffee fresh, freezing meats, and meal prepping. I literally use it all the time. The maintenance has been minimal apart from cleaning the gaskets and wiping down the machine a few times a week or after liquid spills. It has been amazing for all my kitchen needs. It’s also easier to use - much easier to lock the lid and clean than my friend’s Food Saver! In February 2025, the heat sealer starting to malfunction and wouldn’t switch on in Automatic mode. In March 2025, the heat sealer failed completely, and the vacuum was not pulling despite cleaning all the gaskets. I reached out to Potane through their website. They replied back not even 24 hours later, despite it being a weekend. They helped me troubleshoot, and after we ruled everything out, they quickly offered to send me a replacement unit under warranty. I was shocked when a new unit arrived not even a day later! I was all prepared to freeze my ground beef the old way using zipper bags lol. I cannot say enough good things about the company and the vacuum sealer. The new unit is covered under the original warranty, and if it eventually wears out (which is reasonable since I use this thing literally all the time), I won’t hesitate to buy another vacuum sealer from Potane!

Well, after many hours of reading reviews of who knows how many dozens and dozens of other vacuum sealers available on Amazon....I decided to give this Potane vacuum sealer a try. Now considering it would have to "live up to" my old reliable FoodSaver vacuum sealer that worked absolutely flawlessles for over 26+ years....and lost it in a house fire. And with food prices going up week after week, I had to get another and start "storing up" all that I had lost. So far, I've used this Potane on the first day for maybe 3-4 hours. I made dozens of sealings making smaller bags from the 11" roll without a hiccup. Every seal was solid. The second day of use, probably used it for maybe 2 hours straight. So far so good. Every seal was good and solid. Today (13Nov21) I just finished up using it for probably 4 hours, almost near continuously. No problems or issues. The suction I must say, is far better than my previous vacuum sealer. It pulls nice and tight against whatever you're sealing.....so be cautious if your sealing food with "sharp" edges. As its drawing a vacuum, work the food within the bag to kinda "smooth" everything out if you can. My one of my concerns was "would the included hose with the Potane work with my FoodSaver jar sealer attachments I just received??"....YES, I've sealed over a dozen jars flawlessly! Even the regular mouth sealer works. No problems, every one sealed in one vacuum rotation. I ALWAYS had sealing issues with my previous sealer using the jar attachments, especially the regular mouth. I really, really like having the single pull down handle to close the machine. My previous one you had to close the lid and press two tabs on either end of the machine while holding down the lid. Kinda awkward at times. With the Potane, you know that the lid is down and locked without question. The built-in bag cutter is nice, my previous unit did not have that. Making bags is a lot quicker using it. I also like having the in-machine bag storage, which again, my previous unit did not have. Potane also included a roll of 11" and 8" each and my advice to anyone reading this.....BUY MORE BAGS right off the bat!! You will go through them very quick like I did. One of the pro's of purchasing this unit is the "5 year warranty" that is stated. If it's true, then I have no worries for the next 4 years 11 months 24 days. That's a "wait and see" issue, and I hope to never have to hold Potane to their written word. The cost of the unit wasn't as costly as my first unit (back when vacuum sealers were first on the market and I got mine sometime around 1994-5?) So, in conclusion....I am very impressed and pleased with this Potane vacuum sealer machine. It was worth the cost and I can only hope that it will last me a long time. I don't expect 25 years like my FS, but only time will tell.

This is an initial impression, thus far the equipment arrived with all components in a sealed box. My first attempt was filling 8 bags with dry contents and it worked very well. If the open end of the bag is not inside the vacuum chamber, the vac/seal process does not complete, so review the video and keep this in mind. I folded the edges of the open side of the bag before filling it to avoid contaminating the surface and not getting a good seal. I recommend the initial purchase

I bought this product and didn't test it immediately unfortunately. It doesn't even switch on due to the difference in voltage between Australia and the United States.
