A test in time can save pet lives
Who thought I could get my toy poodle to pee in a cup, but I did! As a result I knew it was time to have her blood sugar checked for diabetes. I wish the test had been "wrong," but it was right. The good news is we caught it early and Lily is being treated properly. I didn't ask, but being able to bring the sample in myself probably recouped (or will recoup) the cost of the test. The telescope catch wand is brilliant and with addition test strips is a permanent home health care tool.

Easy to use and most importantly
Easy to use and most importantly, accurate. My mini Australian Shepherd has a history of UTIs and I became concerned after a very unusual "potty" accident that occurred in the past when he had a UTI. I wasn't sure what to think at first because he wasn't showing any other noticeable symptoms and I didn't want to rack up another high vet bill unless it was necessary. I decided to try this at-home test first to easy my mind and provide some guidance. The test results showed "negative" for everything except for protein in his urine which hinted at a kidney condition. I called the vet and my Aussie had a urinalysis done the next day at the vet's office. The vet's results and this at-home test were the same. Blood work followed and we were able to rule out any conditions. We found out that he is healthy and doesn't have any kidney issues right now. His diet was simply too high in protein which put too much stress on the kidneys. This resulted in protein in the urine. We are currently adjusting his diet as necessary to prevent any future kidney issues. I am thankful for this very accurate at-home test that caught it on time. I will be continuing to use these tests to monitor my Aussie's urine contents for both UTI's and protein. I highly recommend this test!

Easy way to check for bladder infection
My dog had been urinating very frequently and urgently, so I expected he might have a urinary tract infection. He has had them in the past and the vet recommended increasing water and giving a cranberry/urinary support supplement, so I figured I would try that first and save us the $300 vet visit. This test was super easy to use. The extender pole and cup made it so easy to collect the sample. Then, a quick dip of the stick and in 30 seconds you could see the results. The color coded key showing what the values should be was really helpful and it confirmed my dog's urine was off. I liked that this kit also had other kits so I could confirm nothing else was wrong with my dog. Once it was confirmed my dog had a UTI, I increased his water intake (by flavoring it with low sodium chicken broth), took him our more frequently and started him on a cranberry supplement. Within a week, he was back to normal and his tests were coming out normal. Because this kit only came with 2 test strips, I purchased another brand that was cheaper per test for the follow up testing. Those strips were cheaper, but they were all more cumbersome to read and didn't have an easy to understand guide to interpreting the results. I still use the wand for urine collection though, it's super handy and a regular red solo cup fits in it perfect. Overall, if you need a quick and easy way to see if you dog does have a problem, I'd recommend this.

Ok - but if you suspect, I suggest a trip to the vet
This is ok. One of the color bands remained white during testing which indicated urinary problems yet after a visit to the vet, there was no issues with bacteria or kidneys. No way to know for sure if the other bands were accurate but vet tests were good across the board except for liver and this test did not test for liver enzymes. I think that would be a good add.

Great Kit with everything you need that you can keep for future use or emergency situation.
This won’t be very helpful as I haven’t ended up using it, unfortunately I had to take our dog for an emergency vet visit and couldn’t wait to use this for results or to gage what was wrong with her. Turns out she has two huge calcium stones and this probably wouldn’t have been helpful in her case. However we have two smaller female dogs that it may be useful for in the future. I have to say I was pleased with the free one day shipping and received everything nicely packaged and together in the small package as advertised. It’s a convenient, helpful tool when your dog is having any type of urinary issue. I believe it can also detect sugar levels for diabetes.

Waste of money
I suspected something was wrong with my 7 months old pup as sometimes I see that he would leak urine after I've cleaned him. One day i noticed some reddish tint left in his urine and he would not let me touch his private area as he would jump out of his resting position. I bought this test and compared from two days until I was able to see his vet after the long holiday weekend. First one was tested on Sunday night (the day I noticed the red tint in his urine when wiping him) and the second one was tested on Tuesday morning (the day of his vet appt). Clearly showed he had a positive test for "protein" in his urine. No confirming for blood his urine but the results strip shows a color that may or may not be a positive test. His urinalysis came back negative, meaning there is no infection, blood, or stones coming from his kidneys, bladder or ureters. The concern is more maybe he had trauma from humping something or licking his private parts too much. Moral of the story, save your money and go to your vet. These strips gave a false positive and results are not as clear.

We will purchase again.
The problem was the vet wanted to retest anyway after we used this product and requested medication. We felt it was a waste of money to buy this kit. After my wife and I talked it was partly our vet that was the problem. The seller actually offered us a refund due to our experience. That was good of them to stand behind their product. We will indeed try this product again. It worked as the seller said it would.

Love it
Checked my dog and it turned out Protein was high. Vet said that kit might be wrong, however after he checked he also confirmed high protein and infection. Medication started and my dog is fine now.

Like the test stripped individually wrapped but pricey
Bought it to test present of blood in my dog’s urine. It served its purpose. What I like is that the test strips are wrapped. The kit contains a holder to help you hold the collection cup so you won’t get urine on your hand. But this is more suitable for a medium size or large dog especially if it’s a male dog. My dog is small size & female. I ended up using a dish to collect the urine. It will be great if it has more than just 2 test strips. For that the price is a bit expensive considering you can perform only 2 tests. I feel that the cup holder & the collection cup are redundant. The collection cup is made of paper just like the ice cream cup with the cover. The holder is a metal ring with a plastic handle (see photo) - which is of no use to anyone once the 2 tests are done. Would rather they spent resources in providing more wrapped test strips instead.

Useful guide in helping to determine if your pet needs to see your vet again!
My 14 year old canine was treated for her first ever UTI with the most appropriate antibiotics. We were then inbetween vets. I purchased this test kit to see how she was doing. The test kit does not give the information a culture would. However it does and did tell me there was still a significant amount of blood in her urine. This is blood not visible to the human eye. Her previous vet was then encouraged to see her again. Long story short, she was given an x-ray to test for bladder stones, which she did not have, then treated with three different types of antibiotics for a total of 180 days after several more cultures. The end result was a clear urine culture with zero e-coli and a healthy canine who will be 15 years old this summer. We are again in between vets so I will use the remainer of this test kit to make certain there is no need to rush back to a good veterinarin. Much appreciation for this useful test guide.

A good purchase
I purchased this to get a sterile sample from my dog and to test at home so I could take the findings to vet. I followed all instructions and nothing happened on the test strips so I thought they were faulty; turns out this happened because my dog has early stage kidney disease, so his urine is SO dilute that none of the toxins are being filtered out with enough PH to be picked up by the strips. SO ...little did I know the lack of a detection on the strips was in fact a detection. I am writing this review mostly for anyone who may fear their dog is unwell and dismiss it because the strips may not show anything...if that happens please take your animal to the vet. This could be an indication of kidney failure or disease. Dillute urine means the kidneys are not filtering out toxins therefore toxins are remaining in the body . In my case we caught it early and have been able to manage symptoms (bed wetting and frequent thirst) with diet so far. This kit was neatly packaged and organized and easy to follow instructions. I would buy again.
