Does this cargo bar stay straight and strong in the middle when almost fully extended? I have one section of my bed that is about 68-1/2".

It is very sturdy but I have not extended it that far. I would imagine as long as you had not reached its length limit it would be OK. I have never had any issue with its sturdiness. My extension has not been over the width of a standard pickup bed -- wall to wall.

Will this product work on a 2017 Ford F 150?

It should. It stretches to 6' long. Just measure your bed and see if it is suitable for your truck. We use it on our 2016 Nissan Frontier, and it works great.

Does the twist lock provide enough tension for the bar to be secure? I'm used to ratcheting levers on cargo bars.

Absolutely. I have 2 of them. The twist tightening is much more finite than the ratchet system. It is a very good product. Have them in the bed of my pickup and they are totally secure even with a load bumping against them.
