The base looks small compared to the seat, like they may be easily tipped over. Are these free standing or screwed into the floor?

They are free standing the only screws are to attach the seat to the base. The base is a normal size for a stool I haven't had any tipping over

I have wood floors, will these chairs scratch the wood floors when you move them out to sit?

I have on ceramic tile and they don't slide very easy more of a pick up to move can't tell u for sure on the wood floor my guess is it won't scratch
