Love it.
-U-shape: allows me to roll my body over (hard enough already at 25 weeks) without having to pull a pillow with me every time. It was hard enough moving a regular sized pillow under the blankets and without waking my husband. With this I just roll over and the pillow is there on the other side. Also, it is really really great to have the pillow behind you as well. It allows you to lean back against it so you're not in the exact same side position but not on your back either. - Contours: really give your belly that extra support so all that weight is not pulling down towards the mattress; and for me at least, they seem to be positioned decently well whether I use it open end up or down. - Versatility: I started out using it with the open end down. This was comfy, but i felt like I had to always pull the "feet" back together so that my feet could be raised at the same level as my knees in order to keep my hips aligned as I was having significant hip pain. I switched to using it with the open end up and like it much better this way. I keep a regular pillow handy above my head but rarely use it. I just use one of the "feet" as my head pillow. The belly support is still in the right area and I don't have to worry about my feet. One other great example of versatility is the option to use it for sitting. I just slide it up on my bed and sit inside the little donut that is created and have the legs up behind me, against the headboard. Super comfy for sitting up in bed. I think the option of using it for a nursing pillow would be comfy but it's a relatively heavy pillow and it seems like it would be difficult to maneuver and then have to have someone hand you baby. - Price: I really had trouble hitting submit payment when I ordered this. Who spends that much on a pillow?? But even in the few weeks I've had it, the quality of sleep I get has been well worth the money. Less pain and less waking is amazing. - Size: Like others have said, this is a pretty big pillow. We have a queen size bed and it takes up just a smidge over half the bed...if I'm careful. Hubby had complained a couple of times, but most nights he just cuddles right up to it and even asks where his part of the pillow is so he can put his knee up on it as well. I miss being able to cuddle against his shoulder but as my belly grew (and grows) that's not comfortable anymore anyways. - "The Seam": A lot of reviewers mention the seam on the inside of the U. I was a little worried about this but found it not to be as huge of a problem as it has been for others. Even when I was using it with the open end down, I didn't think the seam was insanely sharp or painful. Tight, yes, but I never noticed it digging into my shoulders or neck. To each their own I guess...plus now it's a non-issue for me as I flipped that seam down to my feet. Overall I think this pillow has, and will continue to be, a great investment. I'm glad I went for it and didn't get an inferior pillow just to save $20. It really has been well worth the price. Go for it.

It's nice, my first pregnancy pillow, it does help me relax. Updated
Update: I kept on using this pillow as my belly was growing and my baby was becoming more so active and my back and hips more so achy and my whole body felt exhausted I found myself looking forward to relaxing with this pillow. I didn't just use it to sleep at night but also to lay down and relax after I got home from work. Excellent belly support, very comfy. I don't know how I managed without this pillow with my previous pregnancies. It got me through. My bf was very understanding of this necessary "space hog". He said he still had enough space. The only huge downfall of this pillow is the pillowcase. After a while the pillowcase it came with got dirty and started to smell not fresh. (this pillow is warm and will heat you up and make you a little sweaty) When I tried to take it of I quickly realized I needed help. So my bf helped me take the pillow case off, I washed it, but putting it back on was a huge challenge, 20 min and one broken nail into it I gave up and proceeded to use the pillow without the pillowcase. So that said, I'm still giving this product 5 stars for the support and comfort it provided to me during my last 4 month of pregnancy. Let me start of with: I love this pillow, it does help me get comfortable and get better sleep, but... that said, I have a few things I did not expect and that is why I gave it 4 stars. I"m not a small girl right now, I weigh 160 lbs (or maybe even more now) 5'2" and 7 mo pregnant but the pillow comes up tall, I feel completely isolated from my bf when using it, it's like a huge wall and we usually close so that a minus for me already. The seam at the top can be a nuisance and you have to readjust yourself so it doesn't keep cutting into your neck. You have to lay higher on the pillow, then it's fine. (again it may not even bother some people and it may drive others insane everyone is different, body types, sleeping positions etc) It does cradle you in, and is nice for the belly and to put your legs on but.... as far as belly goes, because of how tall this pillow comes up on the side i have to actually keep tucking it under my belly to get that support. This pillow is better than nothing, for some one like me it's A LOT OF PILLOW and now I wish had tried the Snooggle instead first. However as I said it does it's job and i did sleep better, and because I don't like returning things unless it's a complete disappointment I am keeping this. Also if you don't mind tall bulkiness around you - chances are it won't bother you as much as it did me. Be informed - it is huge and takes up a lot of space, especially if you have a Queen size bed vs. King. While for the two of us, and he takes very little space on the bed, Queen size was more than enough space, now that this pillow is there, i take up definitely 65% of the bed. My bf is very nice about the space as he wants me to get good rest and be as comfortable as possible but I just wanted you to make informed decisions.

You deserve good sleep. This was the best thing for me ...
This. Get this. You might be thinking that it is ridiculous to spend so much on a pillow. It is. But odds are you are pregnant and making a human. You deserve good sleep. This was the best thing for me during pregnancy. I bought it for myself when I hit 12 weeks as a treat after dealing with morning sickness. At first, when I didn't have a belly yet but had a painfully swollen chest, I was able to stomach sleep, which is always my favorite. As things progressed, and I switched to side sleeping, it helped keep everything stable and cozy. It did take up half the bed (and we have a California King), but I didn't care. At the end, when my back was aching and my heartburn was constant and my whole body felt swollen, this pillow combined with 2 gulps of antacid and a unisom were the winning combination for an awesome night. (Pregnancy is so glamourous.) My husband thought it was hilarious. He would literally bring people in our bedroom to marvel at the enormous pillow his wife used. (Despite the fact that he uses no fewer than 4 pillows on his own, but I digress.) I spent a lot of time debating in between this pillow and the snoogle, and even borrowed a friend's snoogle in my decision making. I think this is the better choice for stomach sleepers. You have the option of using this as what I can only describe as a "chiropractor's table" for your boobs and belly until well into your second trimester. I had read that this could also be used as a nursing pillow, and that may be so... But it was ejected from my bed immediately after giving birth, because sitting up to nurse with a bunch of swelling and messed up post-partum abs was hard enough without an obstacle. I'm limiting the review to 4 stars despite my freakish enthusiasm because the price is a little high (although I would spend it again in a second... and if you are super frugal you can get this pillow at a certain home goods store that gives away 20% off coupons like candy). Also, it did get a little squished and limp looking after an entire pregnancy. Last, the cover situation leaves a little bit to be desired. It is really annoying to remove and wash the cover it comes with, and the replacement covers are pricy. I wanted a cover for ease of cleaning, and there is a pesky seam near where I would place my face, so I got craft and sewed a yard of jersey (t-shirt) fabric into a tube for where my face went. You could also just cut open the end of a pillow case and have the same effect without having to sew anything. Anyway, the pros far outweigh the cons. I don't regret it. My pillow is waiting underneath my bed for the next pregnancy.

Love it! Some things to be aware of...
I love this pillow. I'm now using it for my second pregnancy and don't know what I would do without it. I really love the U shape instead of just a candy cane. It means I don't have to move the pillow with me if I turn from one side to the other. Plus I can pull whichever side is behind me up close to support my back and hips from behind. That seems to be even more helpful for this pregnancy. There are some things I would mention, but I wouldn't exactly call them all cons... 1. The pillow case is not easy to remove. It's a slip on from the bottom of each end and you really have to work to get it off and on. But the value for the cost of getting another pillow with a zippered cover was not worth it to me. 2. For me, I find it most comfortable to sleep with the open end down at my feet so the pillow is in the inverted U position. The only problem with this is that, for me, the pillow is not thick enough at the top for how much I like my head elevated. So I sleep with my normal pillow on top of this pillow to raise my head more. This one's not really a problem for me, it's just what I've found works best. 3. If it were not for #2, the other reviewers comments about the seam digging into their shoulders would have been true for me too. But the addition of my own pillow on top negated this issue for me. 4. When I'm laying in the pillow, the two sides come down to about my knees. I'm not very tall, just 5'1". I would have liked it to be a little longer, but again, for what I was willing to spend this still worked well. I normally sleep with my knees bent anyway, with one under the pillow and the other on top, and it is long enough for that. But if you are much taller this might be an issue and you might consider a longer pillow. 5. My husband and I jokingly call this the monster pillow. It really is huge and takes up a lot of room on the bed. We have a queen sized bed and it's not too over crowded or uncomfortable trying to fit. I don't think I would be comfortable with two people and this pillow in any smaller sized bed. It definitely nixes any comfortable snuggle time unless I completely kick the pillow out of bed and really keeps my husband at a distance from me. I guess some women might actually like that during pregnancy though. The size is really necessary for what the pillow does for you though. Just be aware that it is big. 5. The pictures show the pillow being used for nursing, but I found it to be too bulky for this. My Boppy worked much better. I pretty much stopped using the pillow as soon as I got home from the hospital the first time around.

Absolute must-have!
Why I Bought This Pillow: I started having a little trouble sleeping during my 1st trimester but an extra king-sized pillow to snuggle with fixed the problem; however, I started having a lot of trouble sleeping in the middle of my 2nd trimester even with the extra bed pillows. I ordered this Back 'n Belly pillow when I was 25 weeks pregnant and have been using it for the past month. It is WONDERFUL! It is an absolute must-have for me! How I Use This Pillow: My husband and I call it the cloud pillow because it feels like I am sleeping in a cloud! Several reviewers commented that the seam at the bend of the pillow was uncomfortable and that the pillow was too short. These have been non-issues for me because I prefer to sleep with it upside down. I still use my regular pillow for my head and I hug the "arms" of this pillow while I sleep. I am 5'4" and I sleep with the top of the arms about chin-level. If I stretch my legs out all the way, my ankles are on either side of the bend in the pillow which is very comfortable. I put a pillowcase designed for a "body pillow" on each arm and they almost meet at the bend in the pillow. That way I can just wash the pillowcases without having to take the cover off. King-sized pillowcases work well too...they are a little snugger and fit the arms better but stop a little short of the bend. Pros: -Keeps me from rolling over on my back most of the time. (I only roll onto my back if I do not tuck the arm snuggly under my back before I fall asleep.) -Provides great support for my arms/chest, belly, knees and ankles. -In certain positions, helps elevate my feet when legs/ankles are swollen. -I sleep through the night (except to go to the bathroom) instead of waking up with the sensation that I'm rolling backwards. Cons: -Takes up a lot of space, but works fine in our king-sized bed. (We tried it in a queen-sized bed at my inlaws and I would not recommend it.) -A little bit hard to crawl in and out of with a big belly, but worth the effort. It helps to crawl under the arms instead of going over top of them. -Difficult to change the cover for washing, but not necessary very often if you use extra pillowcases on the arms.

My neck is not thanking me for this purchase
For the first 25 weeks of my pregnancy, I had no fewer than eight pillows cushioning my front and my back and legs. My husband had to reach over a mountain of pillows to remind himself that, yes, we shared a bed. Despite all the pillows, I found myself constantly on my back, which doctors and nurses and every book tells you is a big no-no. So, I ordered this pillow and when it came, I immediately thought it was going to be fantastic despite my husband saying, "Gee, I've always wanted to sleep next to a massive refrigerator." The pillow is massive. I have a queen bed and it takes up half the bed easily, but it replaces the individual pillows that I had supporting me. When I first tried it after its arrival, I napped on top of it, face up and the pillow was so comfortable on my back. Using it as a reading prop was also wonderful. When I started to use it as a support for side sleeping, I had problems. The pillow is the same width and height all around the "U" shape. The material is not overly soft but not particularly firm. For supporting the back and belly, this is great. There is enough give on the pillow to accommodate a growing belly. However, the height of the pillow really hurt my neck. I don't normally sleep with my neck at the angle that is pictured in the stock photo. I try to keep it more neutral. The user's head doesn't sink down particularly well on the pillow, which can cause intense neck cramps, next-day discomfort, and overall grouchiness. The last couple of nights, I've tried to invert the U pillow so that my head is at the opening and I use a different, lower pillow to support my neck. I haven't found this positioning to be as effective at cradling my belly and back. The legs of the U end up flaring out and I end up sleeping on my back. For individuals who like tall pillows, plan to use this as a reading support, or plan to sleep on their backs on top of the pillow, this product will probably work great, but I have to find something that offers better neck support for nighttime support.

Exactly As Described :D
I have been using this pillow for almost a week now and I have already noticed a difference in my sleeping. I used to toss and turn probably ten times a night. Since using this pillow I probably only turn maybe 2 or 3 times but only when my arm falls asleep. I feel like I have more energy when waking up now, and I don't feel tired as much during the day. Although I am wide awake when opening my eyes in the morning, I do not want to get out of bed because my pillow is so comfortable. I read about 20 of the reviews on here for this before buying it and at least one thing each person said is absolutely right. There are some pros and cons with this pillow, but pros outweigh the cons. Pros: Perfect size to fit to my body and extremely comfortable No matter which way you lay or turn to there is always enough pillow Relieves back pain and hip pain less tossing and turning Cons: The seam is kind of tight and if its not adjusted right it tends to dig into your arm. Just pull the ends of the pillow up more to make a little looser at the top and you don't notice the seam. Easy fix It only comes in white and it is probably more noticeable if you wear makeup. I don't notice because i don't wear make up. I am 5'2" and it is perfect fit, but if you are taller like say 5'8" or so you might find it more of a disadvantage because the part that goes between your legs might not be long enough. It is a bit big and takes up about 60% of my queen size bed. It does not bother my husband but he is not very big either. If you have a bigger significant other that needs more space or is a light sleeper, you might need a bigger bed or a smaller pillow. Over all I still think it is worth the money. As for the cons, just think about whose sleeping space is more important when your pregnant. Yours or your husbands? :D He can always find comfort on the couch.

AWESOME!
I have to say right of the bat, this is the comfiest pillow ever! It is nice and firm and stays put. It has really helped with side sleeping which is insanely painful for me. Actually its so comfy 3 year old son (who fits exactly inside the pillow) keep trying to steal it from me. As does my husband! Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this pillow!!! I am actually able to sleep almost entirely free of pain because of this! And even with me cuddled up with this, it still only takes up half the queen size bed. My husband complains about how little space he has, but he does that even when it's not on the bed so I ignore him. The only thing I hate about this thing (yes hate!) is that the pillowcase is a complete pain in the butt to put back on once you have washed it! If they made it with a zipper instead of a regular style case this would be perfect. Oh,the seam along the curve of the U is kinda painful on your neck and shoulders when you use it next to your head instead of at you feet but bunching a sheet or regular pillowcase along it completely solves that problem. For me as I have at least a dozen pillowcases this is no big deal. But it might be for others. It's still so amazing that even these flaws don't deserve to knock down the rating. I am so glad I bit the bullet on this and got it. We almost didn't due to it being $40 for a pillow but it is way worth the cost even if your on a tight budget. As an extra note, I was previously sleeping on my side bundled up in about 6-8 crappy Walmart pillows that went everywhere, never held their shape and that are NOT much help. My main problems were due to pain in my knees, hips, and shoulders and now it's almost 100% pain free! Normally I sleep on either my stomach or my back, so this is also invaluable at keeping me on my side.

Say goodbye to back pain... and cuddles
Shipping was very fast, arrived on a Friday even though the expected delivery date was a Monday. The pillow itself is very large (I'm 4'11" though) and comfortable with a lot of padding inside. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a hard seam on the inside of the pillow, but I personally do not find it interferes with the overall comfort of the pillow. Other reviewers have mentioned the pillow feeling hot during the night, but I have not experienced that. Overall the pillow is very comfortable and has relieved my back pain. I find I wake up less during the night tossing and turning to get comfortable. My only gripe would be that I can no longer cuddle my hubby during the night. Otherwise, the pillow does exactly what it states and has relieved a lot of soreness that I have been experiencing throughout my pregnancy.
