With its billowing sail and finely details oars, this model is striking from across the room On close inspection, while it doesn't look entirely realistic, it doesn't look at all tacky or silly. It was a great value and it was ingeniously packaged in a custom molded styrofoam shipping container, hence, arrived withe the oars fully assembled and undamaged.

Great overall quality, the hull in particular. This model has just the right overall look and would fit in very well in an Old World room or would make a nice offset in a contemporary room. It was packed exceptionally well when shipped. No damage on arrival. Everything is well painted. The resin hull and sail are excellent. The ores are plastic and flexible but that doesn't distract from the overall appearance. The fact that the ores are semi-flexible is a good thing, otherwise they'd probably be breaking off right and left (wood as an example). I am very pleased.

This ship model is historically correct down to the last detail. It's made from cold cast resin, but looks and feels not plasticy at all. The only niggle one could have, is that the oars are fixed and can't be taken out... But hey, for $60.- this is a real bargain. Other decent viking ship models, which come as kits, cost four times more! The model came in a very protective polystyrene cube, set into a cardboard box and survived the delivery without problems! I just love this model!

I was pleasantly surprised at the degree of detail in this product. It appears that the hull is made of metal although the oars are plastic. The finish of all components looks very much like wood. I'm not sure how authentic the design is but it makes a very nice centerpiece when placed on the provided stand.

I have 3 serious interests, all things nautical, all things ancient (10,000 BC to 18th century), and all things Viking. This brings them all together in one outstanding piece. The quality and detail on this ship are amazing, I have seen worse on ships costing as much as $2,000.00. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who has any interest in such things at all.

First of all, this is gorgeous, exactly as described. The hull looks ruggedly worn, the dragon head is scary, and the sail and flag swell in a following breeze. So it is sort of odd that the oars are all out. But more disturbing: where are the vikings? First thought: they are out raiding -- but why did they leave all of their shields in the gunwales (and the oars out and the sail up)? No. I fear something worse. A big wave, or many, swamped the ship, sending all of the northmen and shield maidens to watery doom. I grieve for their loved ones.

Wow! My family loves it! Detail is amazing! It came with a small stand, and we set it on bookshelf on top of couple of old small books. Looks fantastic up there, and added few family Swedish heirlooms around it. Definitely buy this!!!
