Is this gentle enough to use daily?

I use it every third day and in between use a gentle clarifying shampoo.

This is not a purple shampoo is it?

The color of the shampoo is purple; however, unlike other "purple" shampoos, this doesn't stain anything--towels, for example. I have been using this shampoo for several years; it leaves my hair soft and shiny. My hair a is grey/white/brown mix. I highly recommend the product.

Can this be used on African-American hair?

Yes, I am African-American and it works excellent on my hair. No discoloration with added softness!

Does it have a strong fragrance?

There is a slight scent to this shampoo, but I am allergic to strong scents, and after washing my hair, I don’t notice any smell.
