It's pine tar. Used it for a pine tar soap. Worked great!

A hard to find product. Bought it to keep field mice and other rodents away from my tulip bulbs. Was surprised to see a huge difference. Rodents do not like this stuff, neither the smell or the taste of it. Mixed it with pine chips and covered the soil around the bulbs. No more gobbled up bulbs! What a relief!

Nothing wrong with this product for what it was intended for, but it is not suitable for soap making as other suggested. Wish I had known before buying but it’s not proper purity for use on human skin, even if it is 100% pine tar.

I'm a soap maker and my local livestock and feed store stopped stocking my usual brand of pine tar so decided to try this. If you're a cold process soap maker, you know exactly how pine tar behaves, this is no different. I've been making cold process soap for about 10 years and I'm happy with the results of this batch. The accel, color and scent is the same. After an 8 week cure (which is my usual cure time for pine tar soap) the lather is also the same. My soap testers (AKA beloved friends and family) also find no difference between this pine tar and my previous brand. No one has had any type of adverse skin reaction or other complaint. No, I'm not a horse owner or know anything about their hoof care, but in soap making, I'm happy with the product.
