Overheated and internals melted, smoke coming form the drill. Did not even get a days use out of it

Decent value for the money, comparable to most other drills in this class. One issue that seems to be recurring with this as stated by others is a problem with the chuck. I have had a few times where the chuck has loosened up while working with it and the bit does fall out. I have found myself having to tighten up the chuck every now and then to correct this. Otherwise, it has decent power and the batter lasts long enough for most projects. This is the first power tool I have purchased from Greenworks. I have a blower from them that I love. I think they might need to work a bit more on the engineering of this product and maybe others, but I can't say on those since I don't own any.

Loved it...compact size and nice weight...lasted 2.9 years. Product comes with 3 year waranty. 1 battery and the drill died after 2.9 years. I was expecting 5 years. Just used moderately around the house. Wondering if I shoud switch or get another one. Update: May 2023. Called customer service that product lasted not 3 years...and guess what they sent me a new drill and an upgraded battery pack. Very very happy. People complain about customer service...trick is to leave your ph no. for call back and they do call back. The rep was great. Greenworks for life now. Thank you.

I own the leaf blower, drill and edger all take the same battery, so I bought a send drill that came with two batteries. I my last one for 4 years and never had a battery issue, but since I been drilling into masonry I wanted a 2nd battery. the chargers are alway interchangeable.
