Product description Plugable USB-C to HDMI 2.0 Adapter Plugable's USB Type C to HDMI adapter (USBC-HDMI) allows you to connect an HDMI display to your laptop, tablet, phone, or desktop which supports USB4, Thunderbolt, or USB-C "DisplayPort Alternate Mode" (Alt Mode) video output functionality. When using this adapter, an HDMI cable is required separately. Alt Mode adapters allow you to add an additional display output easily and inexpensively on supported systems. Since DisplayPort Alternate Mode is a direct pipeline to the host graphics processor (GPU) in your system, the connected display will function with the same uncompromising performance of a natively attached display. Video and photo editing, gaming, and other resource-intensive tasks are possible assuming that the system's GPU capabilities are sufficient for the application being used. 4K 60Hz Display The Plugable USB-C to HDMI 2.0 Adapter enables an HDMI display to be connected to a computer via a Thunderbolt, USB4, or USB-C port which supports “Alternate Mode video over USB-C" ("Alt Mode"). DisplayPort signaling is converted to HDMI 2.0 by a chip in the adapter. Review: Excellent performance for computers with Thunderbolt ports that support DisplayPort - Previously, I used an adapter that supported Thunderbolt, but not in DisplayPort mode. That device caused odd performance problems, like a laggy mouse pointer and slow Enternet performance. The Plugable adapter however, works great with my Intel NUC that has a full-featured Thunderbolt port. No more odd performance problems! (During setup I did have to power down the computer to get the adapter to be fully recognized as a display device.)

I wanted to use a 2nd screen with my new Mac mini. All I have is lighting ports and HDMI port. The HDMI is also on my computer screen. You can use a lighting port for a screen. You need THIS adapter. THIS WORKS. It took me 3 tries. Please get this!! It works great!!!
