Is this a one off or normal?** A: I have not ever experienced oil at the bottom of the bag. They brew up to a smooth cup of dark coffee. I expected a little more of a bite for a dark roast -- I like a hint of bitterness -- but I know that smoothness may be a plus for some people. It does seem to have a little more caffeine than Peet's Major Dickinson. Again, that's for better or worse. This 2-pound bag is a good value.
