(There words, not mine) Also not suitable for coastal areas. Any rain or salt water will attack the chrome within a couple of weeks, it starts off with tiny dimples which then bubble up with corrosion, also rust appears to be coming from within the barrel.Customer service communication is very poor, a message takes on average, 6 days, I have currently been waiting for 14 days with no response as to any kind of warranty or replacement, so I'm guessing they're not going to replace it because I live a few miles from the sea and I don't have a roof over the front door. (See photos and email reply from Yale)I used Yale because I thought they could be trusted, I paid good money to have the door modified to take the lock that now looks older than the 54 year old lock that it replaced! ### ⭐⭐ Quality dropping *by U***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 10, 2019* The back of the handle of this lock is no longer enclosed, the striker plate has burrs on it, and the amount of material around the lock mechanism has been reduced. This is the third time I've bought this model of lock and there are just signs of it being more cheaply made with time. Had I been aware of this change I would have tried to purchase old stock where the handle was enclosed - you can't see that it isn't from the photographs so I never gave it a moments thought. I would have been happy to pay say double the cost to get the previous version as this isn't an item where I'm concerned about the cost. The lock gets used several times a day and it just feels flimsy each time I use it, not an quality I want in a lock. Yale, why not offer a choice of a heavy duty or standard lock where the former addresses the points above. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not the high quality I expected *by B***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 29, 2022* Bought this lock to replace my existing Yale front door lock that I fitted many years ago as they appeared to be the same so I hoped it would be a straight swap (it almost was but not quite).Even though the locks look similar, I can only assume that the version I've bought this time around must be a 'cheaper' model. The backset is smaller on the new lock and the inside handle is hollowed out giving it a 'Christmas cracker' quality feel.I won't be buying this particular lock agaiin.Update: The handle on this lock is so awful to use that I finally purchased some Evo-Stik metal epoxy putty and filled the hollowed-out back, shaping it to a profile similar to that of the previous lock.
