Powermatic 4+ Electric Cigarette Injector Machine

I received the Powermatic 4 as a gift in April 2022. Unfortunately I cannot accesss the persons account to leave a review so hopefully this will be accepted.I had the Powermatic 2 but it broke after 6 months. I was new to RYO and hadn’t yet learnt that the key to these machines lasting is not overfilling the chamber. Less is more. Every time it jams, it’s one step closer to breaking. You’ll hear the injector sound weak and if it’s really trying hard to inject the tobacco. Eventually it’ll sound exhausted and the injector will try its hardest but just won’t work anymore. After a few feeble attempts, it’ll make a couple hums and then sound stuck for good. For those interested, there are YT videos on taking them apart, cleaning and fixing them if you’re interested. So it is possible to fix them if you’re so technically inclined. I am not. So I bought another P2 and that one lasted over a year. Even so, you’d still save $ if you had to replace the machine monthly (P2 is $55) as the savings are astronomical. These machines are, to me, very affordably priced. $71 and under is a dang good price for what these machine do. I used to pay over $200 a month on packs of cheaper cigs (in 2021). Now I pay $35-40 a month for tobacco & tubes. If you buy them in bulk, it’s even cheaper. It’ll cut the cost by at least 35% maybe more. My friend purchased the Powermatic 4 as a present for me and I was elated. It’s smaller and lighter than the previous versions and definitely way more powerful. Comparing the two, the P4 sounds much stronger when it injects. I thought the P2 was great. This one is amazing! I can’t believe all these years I was willingly being ripped off by buying packs at the store. Even if you still want to buy packs for the times you're out and can’t roll one, having this to use when at home will still save you a lot of $. I clean the tobacco (I’m picky about this part so as to not jam the machine or poke holes in the tubes) and remove any sticks, etc before filling the hopper. Not all injector machines have such a nice big hopper so this is an added bonus. It’ll hold about a packs worth of tobacco depending on how tight you roll. I make sure to fill the ends and after the cigarette is done, I throw it-filter side down-very hard against the table once or twice. Do this before removing anything sticking out of the end. If you do it right, the end result is a cigarette that looks like it has been lightly packed and is not weak where the filter meets the tobacco. You can remove any tobacco sticking out if any. Again, less is more. If it’s not done correctly or not full enough at the end (near the filter), it’ll bend and you’ll have to empty and retry. Even though you’ve emptied them, these tubes are still good to use. If you have to empty it 3+ times, it will get weak and I wouldn’t bother w it. The best tubes I’ve found are Zen brand but everyone has their favorite. Throw it one more time for a harder pack and a slower burn. Try to throw it so the filter smacks the hard surface evenly and w force. On average, one of my king size cigarettes burns for 8 minutes. I make sure to keep the machine clean and do not use tobacco that is dry or has a lot of tiny particles especially the dust in the bottom of the bag. That’s bad for the machine. In case the dust gets inside the machine, there is a small mechanism that pushes it out as much as possible on the side. There’s only so much you can do but so far it’ll be 3 years in April that I’ve had this machine and I’m so happy (and grateful) that it’s lasted so long. I think it’s high quality and the best RYO machine you can buy for home use. I even travel w it! I’ve rolled on trains and buses and in public. I found that Boveda humidity packs (expensive but worth it!) or hydro stones (cheap but must be re-moistened 2-3x a week) help to keep the tobacco moist so there’s little waste. The only issue I’ve recently had is that sometimes the AC adapter doesn’t work. I have to fiddle w the cord a little. Eventually it’ll come on but I think it’s going out. It’s not the wall plug but the other end where it connects to the machine. I’m not sure if I can find another or a generic AC adapter of the same specifications would work? I’ll have to contact the seller. Even w the cord issue, I cannot recommend this any higher!! It’s a $ saver and so easy to use once you get the hang of how much tobacco to use. I will never go back to buying prepackaged cigarettes again. If you’re not sure if it’s worth it, PULL THE TRIGGER! You can always return it if you’re unsatisfied but you won’t be. I did read a few people received machines that were defective and I’m sure that occurs w everything so I can’t fault the seller as long as it’s returnable which it is.

Perfect!! Loaded about a carton of cigarettes in a couple hours while watching tv. The push rod system guarantees a packed cigarette that the auger systems do not. I don’t have cherries falling off and finding myself have to relight a couple times. Perfect packing to be able to drive with window down to smoke without worrying about it falling apart on me. Well worth the investment!!

I've made about 1000 cigarettes so far and I have no complaints. Beats the heck out of the hand crank models. I can make about 3 cigarettes a minute going 100s. Taking extra care to pack the right side more to keep the tobacco from falling out of the tube. It costs about $0.90 to make a pack. 10 times cheaper than buying a pack!!!. I should have done this earlier. I smoked Marlboro black and have found ohm bold pipe tobacco and zen red filters makes for a comparable smoke. It takes I bit to adjust but now I'll never go back to buying packs at the store. I spend 30 minutes rolling a few times a week. If you smoke a pack a day you'll be saving $250+ bucks a month. Crazy right? The investment into the machine is well worth it. Im starting to roll for my mom now and she made the switch. She smoked Winston 100 lights for decades and made the switch to my homemade smokes. Another $250/month saved for her. Smoking is expensive and at least this way it doesn't break the bank. Its by no means good for you, but your not getting all the additives from store bought. If your on the fence just go for it. Order some tobacco and tubes online. Save your hard earned money. No more lectures from the wife about cigarette spending. 250 tubes is $4.00/box. 1lb of tobacco is $14.00 That makes about 500 cigarettes. So..... $22.00 dollars for 25 PACKS of cigarettes. A pack/day smoker would save $3,000 a year. If that doesn't convince you to DIY your cigs, nothing will.

I have saved over $300 per month since I bought this machine. I can make a carton of cigarettes for around $30 as opposed to $200 per carton nowadays. I started with a manual one that looks kind of like a little paper stapler. That worked great but it will take a toll on your hands if you're a senior. I graduated to this machine and I don't know how I ever did without it. The cigarettes come out beautifully and quickly. I'm not that fast, but I can make a pack in about 5 minutes if I really go fast...lol. The tubes can be bought for it in either kings or 100s and I can by 5 boxes of 200 tubes for $20 right here on Amazon. There are varying prices from varying vendors, so do some shopping. You won't be disappointed. The tobacco can be bought online at various tobacco vendors depending on state legality. I just buy my tobacco at a convenience store in a bag. When you buy it, it will be called pipe tobacco, so that the vendor doesn't have to pay cigarette tax. It technically IS pipe tobacco, it's just cut finer like what you would find in a store bought cigarette. I can tell you that the flavor isn't much different than what I used to pay $10 per pack for. This is one of the best investments I have ever made. The video I'm uploading is short and sweet. What you see here is a hopper full of shredded "pipe" tobacco and a blank cig tube connected to the machine. You tuck a bit of the tobacco down into the chamber and flip the lever and VOILLA! a cigarette is injected with tobacco and is ready to smoke. These are SUPER easy to make! You can put these in a ziplock bag or a small tupperware container in the fridge if you want (I don't) or just repack old cigarette boxes that your sister saved for you (like I did). LOL. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

I am not ready to give up my cigarettes, but have sworn off buying them in a convenience store with the heavy taxes added to the retail costs. I started off rolling my own cigarettes using the heavy metal crank rolling machine. I didn't like it, but that was how I became introduced to the concept of not giving what little money I had to pay for sales taxes on cigs. So, I ordered the 2nd version of this rolling machine - which had a good long life with many, many rolled cigarettes. Normal wear and tear on an frequently used device is to be expected. I really liked the modifications made to the Powermatic II - a rounded shaped wall that allows for more tobacco placed in the hopper. Before, I would need to add a new handful of loose tabacco after rolling 5-7 cigarettes per batch. The size is longer, but not as tall. I still recommend having a larger box to keep the loose tobacco from scattering all over the table or hard surface where the Injector machine is kept. I have always smoked king sized cigarettes, where this machine is easier to use with the 100 size tubes. I have also had fewer jams with the 4th edition of an already good product. I have convinced peers who are also closeted cigarette smokers to save their money and buy nice things for themselves instead of the convenience stores! For those of you who are not quite ready to quit smoking, please consider smoking SMARTER by taking a few minutes to use the electric cigarette injector machine before you head out to work each day. The price pays for itself in two weeks - given the price of buying them in convenience stores. Buy something nice after you've bought this!
