An answer said this cannot be used to stop a leak in a basement wall. If it can be used in a swimming pool, why won't it work on basement walls?

I am surprised anyone had success in a swimming pool application. I can see how this use differs from a leaky wall, however. In the former, the pressure is on the patch but on a wall the water pressure is against the patch itself and water inevitably will seep through. Either use is a haphazard repair. “Flashing,” to me meant use against the flashing on my roof. Specifically, I lifted tiles and applied it on the ridge line then put the tile back in place. No leak.

To manufacturer; is there any possibility of this material becoming runny under high heat conditions such as between two metal roof panels? i

When exposed to sunlight daily or to surfaces that get extremely hot by the weather or sun, the tape generally does not melt or at least the sticky material does not , but more it tens to dry out hard over time. That’s my experience with two rolls.

Does it contain Vocs? And is it flammable if use it to seal the attic gap between furnace closet and attic?

Product description says it’s rubberized asphalt. So yes I would definitely assume it’s flammable try aluminum flashing tape for duct work. Or regular duct tape.
