One thing to do is to put the screening and the spline in the sun so it is more pliable and easier to work with. I also used painter's tape (Frogtape) across the top of each panel to hold it in place until I could get the first run of spline in. We are using this not only to keep the cats inside (FL=hawks and coyotes) but also to keep critters out. This screening is different than what we had him install last year. When it's cut, you can see tiny fibers that are not seen on the cut edge of the other company's pet screen. Both look the same to me otherwise and both are super strong, but ADFORS has made their new screen material very different in that it is FIRE RESISTANT. I think they make the only fire resistant screening at this time, which is very important to me since we live in a forest on a mountainside with limited access. We are at high risk for a wild fire, despite being deemed "Fire Wise!" If embers ever come floating by or are blown at us on a windy day when there's a fire nearby, I don't want our screen porch to catch fire easily and spread it to our house. We would probably be doomed to lose our home if a wild fire spread near us, but it still gives me some peace of mind to know we selected screens that won't make things a lot worse. I went to their website to learn more and came away very impressed! I took a chance and bought a 100' roll to have extra on hand bc one was for sale in Very Good Condition at $100 savings. It was in Excellent Condition in my opinion. VERY SATISFIED! Great company. I have been using their pet screen for years and it is great. No problems. **Q: What is the exact measurement of the mesh itself, 20x20, 20x30 (???) and besides pets/animals, does it stop no-see-ums from entering?** A: It's 3 ft high and 100 ft where u cut yourself also the mesh is thicker ... no see um will enter but gnats flies ants should be ok and I have Great Danes this mesh is pretty tough **Q: I would like to use this to build a catio for my two cats. Will this on it's own be strong enough or would I need wire mesh as well?** A: The only animal damage I’ve had in this screen was when I used a panel of it as a flap door and rolled it up to the top and secured it for winter. A squirrel got inside the roll and stiored nuts, then chewed through several layers over the course of the winter. Next winter I put glass spice jars in the ends of the roll to keep animals out. I wouldn’t think cats would do this kind of damage. **Q: does this keep out fleas and ticks?** A: It should. It is pretty tight mesh.
