Degassing necessary?** A: I don’t know about plastisol casting. However, I do de-gas RTV when mold making as it makes a better mold. I cast in urethanes and polyester resins. **Q: Can i cast lead into a silicone mold?** A: Our silicones listed on Amazon do not work well for lead as they have a lower temperature rating than lead melts at. You might be able to get a few pieces out of a mold made from the AM128 but I strongly suggest buying a high temperature silicone for your project. I worked in the Hasbro model shop as a model maker and technician and had my own modeling and casting business for over 20 years. This RTV is easy to handle, very easy to pour and I have had wonderful results. I don't have any long term use results at this time, but I have ordered my second set. I use the RTV to cast in a variety of mediums: Smooth On resin, polyester resin, and white metal. The silicone rubber mixes and pours relatively easily, it has a pleasant odor, and cures into a durable, long lasting mold.Air bubbles are a concern with any silicone rubber mold making compound. I've been able to significantly reduce bubbles by pouring the mix in a thin stream from a 3ft height.
