All the extra layers make it very thick and soft so you can lay it out right on the floor and the baby will still feel comfortable.CON's:I really love this changing pad it's by far my favorite one, but if I had to list some cons I would say its the fact that I can't put it in the dryer. It is very thick and I imagine would take some time to dry on a cold winter day. One other nit picky thing is the packaging. It comes in a clear plastic bag with a plain label. It would not be the prettiest way to gift it. The label doesn't even tell you all the amazing facts about the product.
