This was exactly what I was looking for! A variety of glass samples to get started and try out stained glass art. It is not exactly huge value for the money spent, but great if you want a variety instead of buying big sheets!

I wanted some glass to play with for some soft soldering jewelry projects. That is, I cut a piece of glass (I have a scoring tool and some pliers designed for this purpose), wrap it in copper foil tape, and apply flux and solder and also add bails and/or jump rings to make pendants, links, etc. I am trying this with all kinds of items (glass like this, sea glass, some semiprecious stones, etc.). I wanted plenty of glass to practice with before I start making things I would be willing to show anyone, so I bought this. There is a nice assortment of colors, transparencies, etc. here. Mine did not match the official product image 100% (the product listing says it won't), but there was definitely some overlap. As advertised, I did not receive any duplicate pieces. I am using the colors I don't love quite as much for practice and then I am saving the jewel tones (my favorites) for official projects. I have found the performance of each color comparable to the others so far in terms of scoring, cutting, etc. The thickness is fine for my purposes (but it doesn't really matter how thick a glass pendant is). I feel this assortment is probably best for a beginner. When you are more advanced, I suspect you would want larger amounts of each color and/or to choose your own colors (i.e., if you are making a mosaic or a stained glass object). But if you are just trying to get a feel for working with glass in any one of several crafty capacities, this is a good starter set.

Good for smaller projects.

As others have noted, this is an excellent choice for a first timer! With these manageable sized pieces, it's not overwhelming and it offers a great variety of beautiful colors, textures and levels of transparency. I was extremely pleased with the price and variety. As someone else noted, we also went into a stained glass shop first, only to become instantly overwhelmed and uncomfortable with the choices, and unclear and confusing varying prices, and the huge sizes of glass. Plus, being that everything you touch is the ultimate in fragile, it made us not want to browse or touch anything for fear of causing an avalanche of broken glass. It was almost like feeling sick in there. So, we found this variety pack of smaller, more manageable pieces on Amazon and decided this was the perfect starter set for us. We quickly decided we wanted more, so we bought a second 20-piece set. At the time this review is being written, it looks like it's no longer available, but we hope this is temporary because we were hoping to buy more sets.

good variety of color, very pretty. I would like to see less clear glass as it does not work well with my mosaic
