Excellent, the best alarm clock we have bought. Hard to find a simple analog one. Substantial in its construction. Totally silent - no noise from the hands moving. Several different colors. If you are putting it on a very narrow ledge, it may not work. The ledge we have is 3-1/4" deep - that is the minimum you would need so it doesn't sit at the very end of the ledge and will fall off. Love it! Uses I believe on battery. I'm sure its described. Just don't want to disassemble now that I sat back down to do the review!!!! Oh, yes, the alarm sound is at the perfect decibel; and there is a little button in the back to light up the face. A separate sweep hand to set the alarm time.

I bought it to put next to my bathroom sink. I bought the BLUE one!! It looks soooo beautiful. Truth is, I chose it for its colour! Also, it makes me so happy to be able to tell you 1) It keeps perfect time, and 2) It really is absolutely silent!!

This clock is exactly what I was looking for. I need an alarm that is very loud and persistent because I'm a very heavy sleeper. I think I could fall asleep at a rock concert.I have a very nice digital alarm that is loud enough, and it's very nice. The only problem with it is that I have to plug it in. I need one that will work with batteries. I gave the nice digital one to a family member who absolutely loves it.I had an alarm very similar to this one, and it's only problem was that it was not at all stable. Instead of the stable ball feet of this one, it had two thin metal prongs for feet. It was falling over all the time. Finally, it just wouldn't ring any longer. So, I came back to Amazon to search for a replacement and found this one.I love this clock! It's slightly larger than the one I had before, and it's a lot heavier. It uses batteries (no cord, yay!), it is silent except for the alarm which is super loud. It's louder than the clock it replaced, but still not quite as loud as the digital one I gave away. But it's loud enough to wake me, and that's really all I care about.The clock seems very sturdy and durable, and I love that. I don't want it falling over. I can travel with it since it runs on batteries, so that's another plus. You do have to turn it off and on in the back, not on top, but that doesn't bother me at all. A loud alarm, stability on the clock, and a clock that uses batteries were what I was looking for. I have to take medication at noon and midnight for a heart condition, so I have to remember to flip the alarm back on after I take my noon dose, so the alarm will ring at midnight. That, too, is no big deal for me. This clock is really simple to use, and I love that.You really can't go wrong with this alarm clock, especially if you need a loud alarm to wake you, as I do.
