My sister-in-law got these for my 3 year old daughter, and out of all of our toys, they DEFINITELY get the most play time. My daughter absolutely loves these. She builds houses for all of her little toys, or makes "ice cream cones" and just has a blast with them. She could play with these for hours - and we're going on 6 months of having this toy. The magnets in our set are strong enough. I wouldn't call them super-strong, but definitely strong enough to hold shapes and build structures. I would not have ever thought to call these "weak," but we have not owned any other magnetic tile sets, so I have nothing to compare to. The plastic is very durable and the colors are quite pretty. They are played with on wooden tables and floors in our house, and they do not seem to scratch surfaces. So what's the problem? Well... I came on Amazon today to get some additional sets because my daughter loves these so much. We love our MagSnaps and wouldn't deviate from them, except that they are NOT compatible with other magnet tile sets. The MagSnap squares are SMALLER than 3x3. I would guess 2.75x2.75 - enough to where they will not work with any other sets. If there was a variety of other sets of MagSnaps, I would have no problem buying those, but unfortunately, there are just the 48 piece set and the 100 piece set... I was really looking forward to expanding our collection with cars, gates, doors, etc., since all of the OTHER magnetic tile toy sets are compatible with each other, but now I'm stumped about what to do. I know my kiddo would loves a variety of different shapes and options, but MagSnaps doesn't make any other shapes, and the other sets aren't compatible with ours. Do I buy all new magnetic tiles (EXPENSIVE)? Do I just buy more of the same shapes? Do we get the new sets and cross our fingers that they're compatible "enough"? If I buy all new magnet tiles, do we toss/donate these (seems a waste)? I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do, but I'm annoyed and irritated that I have to deal with this. It's just a frustrating predicament to be in as a parent. I get that manufacturers only want their customers to buy THEIR product, but if they're going to take that risk, they need to deliver the same (or additional) options that other products do. Bottom Line: Great product, kid loves it, excellent quality, but NOT compatible with other sets and a limited variety of shapes/options compared to other sets.

Get Magformers instead. These do not have strong enough magnets to make standing structures. They have very weak cheap magnets. My pieces have started coming apart and the magnets inside have gone missing. Go get Magformers and don't waste your money on these.

Ok product. Visually they look great but don't hold together as well as my daughters original set.

These are amazingly fun. My grandsons play for hours with them. All imagination. Most instructions for laying flat building but my guys build up high. This set was an add on to what we have now, so they now have 150 pieces to share and build. This small set would not have been enough for the both of them to share. Well worth the money!

My 5 and 3 year old love them. Teaching motor skills and shapes and lots of fun, great toy!
