There is also a forum on their site where you can ask questions. **Q: Will this work on chiffon made of polyester?** A: The best product to use on Chiffon is Dupont Dyes.. this is the best quality. With Jacquard Green or Red label the dyes do work but the colors are not bright of brillant as they are with Dupont. Just remember you need to Steam them with either Dupont or Jacquard Red Label dyes.. Also NEVER USE IT ON POLYESTER.. this fabric is very hard to work with.. the colors will bleed and not take effect.. I also work with BATIKING.. with batiking is working and painting with wax, beeswax pure from the farm.. well I take a fabric tee shirts must be 100% cotton, paint my design on then I dip it into Procion Dye from Dharma Trading company. YOU Want dyes to be the freshest possible sometimes Amazon carries low grade products what I mean it sits on the shelves for a really long time until someone buys it. I am NOT saying its not good but if a product sits too long it goes rancid in the packing and I found that out when I purchased some Dye from here, and also used Derwent Chalk Dyes. If you are going to buy dyes for Chiffon, buy Dupont... thats the best product your colors will come out so wonderful but you need to set steam them... Color Hue and Jacquard Green label are lighter dyes Color Hue is more concentrated but they do not have many colors to work with. The difference between alot of these are that some are heat set by an ironing only. Any other questions on dyes fabrics or batiking i love to help!!! **Q: What is the shelf life of these dyes** A: Generally these types of fabric dyes have a long shelf life, but the company jacquard has a fair amount of detail info on their web site, which would really provide you info for various materials including this type of dye. **Q: I want to dye my silk nightgown. Is this the right product for that?** A: These are dyes, yes, but they are for silk painting, meaning putting different colors in different areas. If you just want to dye your nightgown 1 color, I highly recommend Jacquard Acid dye. It is very even and easy to dye. You can even do it in the washing machine.
