**Q: What is the purpose of the plastic disk attached to the brass disk?  It doesn't seem to separate and most have a break in the plastic on one edge.**
A: This keeps the copper flat so it can pick up the vibrations of the strings. Do not try to remove it,you will mess up the peizo,the crack or chip will not hurt it. Remember,the plastic keeps the copper flat. Watch Dale Puckett on YouTube for more info. On these pickups,He is sharp on this. RM47

A: Plastic & copper.

**Q: Will this item good to install in a acoustic guitar and connect to my amplifier.**
A: AH! I can give you some advice here having extensive experience playing acoustic guitar during the 90s coffee house boom. Piezo pickups for acoustic guitar are usually the strip kind under the bridge and I learned to recognize and hate the sound realy well. I always went for a magnetic soundhole pickup and a preamp. HOWEVER these dirt cheap round pickups give you a chance to try it out on all different parts of the guitar body just be sure to decide on what suits you before drilling any holes. just be aware that if you plug it straight into an amplifier, it is basically a microphone and you WILL get all sorts of feedback. not the good kind. get it wrong and you will get feedback before you get loud enough to make it useful. just remember it is a microphone.

A: I don't have them in front of me, but they were very close to 4".
