As the mom I don’t get it but my 11 year old loves it and has been playing/practicing with this item for a full week. He’s broken the closing clasp on the end but that doesn’t seem to effect the action at all.

My kid loved it from when he opened it Christmas morning. Yes, he was using it as advertised right in front of me while we were still opening gifts in front of the Christmas tree and it's gears/joints fell right out. Half the knife fell off! It was impossible to fix, waste of money 🤑 Lasted all of 10 minutes.
