Used both through-hole and surface-mount diodes with these boards with no issues and even did a 78 key variation that is possible on the original boards like this one but almost no one sells (ergodox EZ and Inout Club models are 76 key only).Once built up with diodes, switches, resistors, usb and 4 conductor photo plugs, LEDs, a capacitor and the Teensy micro controller you can program the board using the Web tools for the Ergodox EZ. Sourcing quality cases for these is more difficult, you will probably want to laser cut acrylic yourself or find a friend to help. While optional a metal plate makes things much better but I cut a custom 78 key acrylic one.The only competition for these (readily available, non-group-buy) are the ErgoDone boards which use a different micro controller — these are designed for the Teensy 2.0 modules, the ErgoDone uses a different module. I haven’t used them but you might want to use qmk firmware for those. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality PCB *by B***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2016* First, I love the ErgoDox keyboard and have one already built. I wanted to build another and found these PCB's on Amazon for a very reasonable price. The boards are of exceptional quality with a decent thickness and excellent etching. Good slink screening with everything labeled. The boards look exactly as pictured and are white in color with the cool reversible design. If your looking to build your own ErgoDox you wont' be disappointed with this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Way cheaper than the EZ *by W***T on Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2018* Basic board straight out of the original ErgoDox GitHub project. No frill, which can be good or bad. The Teensy 2.0 used in this is getting a bit harder to find.Still, if you have the soldering tools, it's one of the few ways to get yourself an ErgoDox for under $100.I just used some rubber bumper feet on the bottom instead of a case.
