Great book, must read for everyone. Highly recommend.

I have been a fan of Alain De Botton and why not; he has been on a mission to make philosophy accessible to all, and to make philosophy a tool for living a more meaningful life. And this book is easy to read, full of insights and lots of ideas on how to be emotionally more mature. Read it, and gift it to your friends. More people read this book, the world would be a better place.

The content and quality of writing is sublime. Alain De Botton continues to enthral with his comprehensive and succinct writing to unpack some of the most important yet deeply knotty issues that continues to elude us even today. Reading his books and every other book by the school of life feels liberating and enlightening. A must read for everybody! The print and quality of pages however should’ve been much better considering Penguin!

Every person should read this. This should be introduced during graduation. The knowledge!

It has all the lessons that school does not teach you and after every page, you wonder why. It surely is a tough read, some sections may need repetitive reading to fully comprehend, but after few struggles you know it will be worth it.

Must read for every adult. What a fantastic writer Alian De Botton is.

Each sentence is worth highlighting and is self reflecting. A true wisdom on how life can be extremely complicated in every sense and yet it is worth going through the journey of it.

Not a quality paper at all for this price. Printing is also not good. Not worth it

So…this boomer has a confession: I am thanking Dr Alain de Botton from the bottom of my heart (relishing my abnormal weird crazy idiot side as recommended by the author. Get it. De Botton from the bottom) for his hard work and insights that led to writing this book. I interacted with this book extensively underlining and annotating it extensively in an attempt to glean and remember its many gems. My boyfriend said he is also interested in reading it. Dr de Botton emphasizes that love is a skill, contrary to our current romantic notion of finding the perfect soul mate, and de botton’s philosophy is for those who love each other to teach each other. You will have to read the book to learn what constitutes a good teacher. I hope I get to meet Dr de Botton someday.
