Dr Thumb for Thumb Sucking Prevention and Treatment, Stop Thumb Sucking Today (Large (3-7 years))

This worked for both my boys ages 5 and 7. We had tried just about everything i could think of to quit but got nowhere. The boys both wanted to quit but just didnt know how. We got 2 of the devices, one for each kid. They wore them most of the time for about a week except while in school. They kept telling me that they quit and didnt feel like sucking any more but i kept them on for a few more days anyway. They did not like wearing the device but we bribed them with toys for keeping it on. That worked. Perhaps they quit sucking just so they would not have to wear it anymore. When they got to stop wearing it we had them put on a bandaid as a reminder. I really dont care why it worked. But it worked for us! They could wiggle the thumbs out if they really wanted so if you have a kid that is older and really not ready to quit it may not work but it is relatively inexpensive so i feel like its worth a try. I wish i had done this when the kids were 1 or 2 years old.

I had high hopes for this guard for my 6 year old who was still sucking her thumb at night. We had tried gloves and all sorts of other things. She wants to quit sucking her thumb and would go to sleep without sucking it, but at some point during the night she would pull off the glove and revert. This guard is a soft silicone and she EASILY pulled her thumb out during the night no matter how snugly I adjusted the strap. This might work for a young toddler, but not for an older child.

I bought this product w/ my own money. the company is not paying me to do a review. I've used this product with my 3 in a half yr old son. At first I bought the small size but it didn't fit and was extremely tight on his hand so I sent it back and got the large size. day one of use he did not want to wear it (of course) and kept trying to take it off. I had a talk with him and after that he didn't try to take it off. the first night was hard, he woke up in the middle of the night begging to take the product off (so beware the first day and night is the hardest) with that being said, he has now had it own for almost a week and no thumb sucking has occurred! I only take it off for bath time and then put it back on. everyday I am seeing progress where he won't even lift his thumb to put in his mouth! I've tried everything, even the yucky stuff that goes on like nail polish but it didn't work and made him sick. dr thumb has been working so far and I will leave another review after the recommended 3-4weeks of use

The 3-7 year old size does not fit my 4 year old well. My daughter is tall for her age and has long fingers. The thumb guard is a little snug on her and irritates the base of her thumb. The nylon wrist strap fits fine, it's the silicone straps on her hand that are problematic for her. The silicone thumb guard causes her thumb to sweat at night and I'm worried about skin break down where the guard rubs on her thumb. The good thing is that she cannot remove it herself. However, she came running into my room at 3am begging for me to take it off because it was hurting her. When I removed it, she had a large red sore on the heel of her thumb. I will say that the quality is great. I like that it is made of a soft silicone and I like that she cannot remove it herself at night. However, I wish Dr. Thumb came in a larger size. I have considered tucking some gauze under the part of the silicone that is rubbing on her hand. Just wanted to let parents know that the product might not work if your child has long fingers. I will try placing Dr. Thumb over gloves to see if that helps.

EXCELLENT! PRODUCT WORKED FOR OUR 15 month old within 2month his habit had been broken! MONEY SAVER! Habit breaker! highly recommend using sooner than later.

This product was purchased 12-12-18. It was bought as a Christmas gift to stop my 4 year old from sucking his thumb. He got it Christmas Day and the 26th we put it on him. 21 days into wearing it it’s tearing. I’d say definitely not worth the money at all. He hasn’t chewed on it or anything and it’s falling apart. I would say to find another product as this one doesn’t hold up and my 4 year old can still pull his thumb out of it and suck it. Mind you he’s been sucking his thumb since in utro so it’s a very hard habit to break at this point.

Great device. It really works. I bought it for my two year old. The first few nights that she had it on she barely slept. She kept waking up and wanting me to remove the device. It was difficult for me also. It broke my heart because I felt that I was making her miserable. On about the fourth night she would go to sleep and stayed asleep without waking up. I kept it on for 10 days and she's no longer sucking her thumb. It's off now but I watch her like a hawk. She has never tried since to suck the thumb. I am very pleased because I started to see how oral structure was being affected by her sucking her thumb. When she tried to remove her finger from the device all I did was tell her not to touch it and distracted her. Wow... great product idea and it really works.

My son is five years old and starts school in the fall. I didn't want the other kids to make fun of him, plus he is messing up his teeth, which will cost a lot of money to fix. I have tried everything to get my son to stop sucking his thumb. I truly love this thumb gaurd and it works!! The only thing is my son can figure out how to get it off. Which wasn't good at first but I would take surgical tape over it so he couldn't get it off. Now after a week I didnt need to use the tape and after three weeks he doesn't have to wear it during the day and only wears it at night. I have been thinking about keeping it off at night but not sure he is ready yet but I sure it will be soon.

Mon fils a très vite arrêté de sucer son pouce. Ce n'est pas élégant donc on le met la nuit. Mais nous sommes heureux car nous avons tout essayé pour qu'il arrête (vernis, pansement et élasto, la menace, la récompense ... rien a marché!!!) j'ai cru qu'il enlevé son pouce la nuit car il était mouillé le matin mais en fait il transpirait. Cet objet nous a sauvé, il est miraculeux!! Attention il existe plusieurs tailles: j'ai pris la plus grande pour on fils de 6 ans. Attention aussi il s'agit de plastique donc ça peut cassé; j'ai dû le recollé.

Très efficace pour mon fils qui se suçait le pousse sans cesse. L’accessoire à tenu le coup trois semaines et a brisé par usure puisque mon fils le portait 24 h sur 24 sauf durant le bain, mais mon fils n’a plus jamais sucer son pousse après. J’ai adoré l’expérience de cette petite solution magique! Je le recommande à tous les parents!

Excellent product. Comes with additional band and clasp that cannot be removed without using a pen, screwdriver or other tool which is great for when your child works out how to remove the standard clasp.

It worked for a while but my 3 year old chewed it and eventually tore it. Its a good product and the soft silicone is comfortable but it wasnt durable. quite costly too so didn't have the courage to buy it again.
